2736 The Old Hetran

Nr. 2736
The Old Hetran
Der greise Hetran
By Hubert Haensel

Koonepher-Trest, the aged ruler of Larhatoons, is nearing his end. Therefore, the First Hetran is taking the journey of the final behest to give final instructions to the planet inhabited by his people and to appoint a successor. There are quite a few contenders for the post, including the sub-Hetran Timis-Tiapha. Both also travel to the Counterfactual Museum on Axxallia-Annor. There, the First Hetran wants to name his successor by pronouncing his name while he is wearing a helmet - the Designatum. Timis-Tiapha arrives at Axxallia-Annor first and orders a new bodyguard to be hired for First Hetran. After appropriate vetting the choice falls on Kokkov from the amphibian people of the Praccic. He receives a badge of patronage, which identifies him as an employee from the staff of the First Hetran.

Meanwhile, Perry Rhodan and Bostich are using Gesspyr Hocctosser's influence to gain an audience with Greiko Baudencerc, the Main Director of the Counterfactual Museum. Rhodan hopes to get information about the Vectorion and thus possibly find the way to the world of origin of the Larens. Baudencerc confirms that the Vectorion exists and is a kind of compass owned by the First Hetran that shows the way to Larhat. The conversation is interrupted by the arrival of Koonepher Trests. In Baudencerc's absence, Rhodan and Bostich secretly invade his chambers, for they have the impression that they - or rather their cell activators - were somehow influenced during the audience. The explanation is as simple as it is astonishing: in a secure room inside the museum is a Physiotron!

In addition, the Galactics find a sarcophagus with Baudencerc's corpse. But a very much alive Baudencerc comes along, possibly using a fictiv transmitter. The Greiko explains that he is a witness of the future and that the Physiotron serves only him. Despite the violation of his privacy, he is ready to talk and even explains to his "guests" the purpose of a confessional object on his premises. It is an Atopic Synaptor that would allow contact with the homeland of the Atopes if it were not damaged.

Neacue, who has already become bored, is pleased when the action finally begins. Unknown (allegedly proto-Hetostes) commit an attack on the First Hetran. Kokkov beats back the attackers, but as he approaches his ward, his badge explodes. Before the First Hetran succumbs to his severe injuries, he still talks to Rhodan. Perry admits to being the Hetork Tesser, to which Koonepher-Trest reacts with inexplicable satisfaction. He hands Rhodan the Vectorion.

Although the assassination was successful, Timis-Tiapha has not quite reached her goal. Koonepher-Trest did not pronounce the name of the new First Hetran, and the Designatum is nowhere to be found.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow! What an action packed issue. If this keeps up, it's going be one of my favorite cycles yet. I am curious if they'll deal further with the succession. I also wonder how long Neacue will stick around. HE reminds me a bit of Kummerog's skin, back in the Tolkander cycle.

For some reason, I just had the thought that Perry is slowly running out of activator bearers. Some of the gang needs to come back.

Your wish will be granted in time. :D

I remember this issue very well. The mystery of the origin and capabilities of the AT is further intensified with the atopic synaptor, the physiotron and the double Greiko Baudencerc. And the kiss by the dying Old Hertran is even more puzzling. The answers to these mysteries are only slowly revealed.

Hi,
My theory of the kiss was that when the First Hetran realized who Rhodan was, he felt that Perry was here to ruin the Atopic Tribunal and was giving his blessing to it. Hopefully, time will tell.

2737 - The Instruction of the Vectorion

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

Nr. 2737
The Instruction of the Vectorion
Die Weisung des Vektorions
By Susan Schwartz

The First Hetran is dead and the Designatum is gone. So nobody knows who will be the new First Hetran and whether Koonepher-Trest had arranged the succession at all. The tensions in the Axxallia system are increasing as some potential successors are on the scene, including Sub-Hetran Timis-Tiapha and her fiercest rival, Fleet Commander Bhuucan-Vaak. Timis-Tiapha is ruthless enough to put Bhuucan-Vaak and his followers out of action to obtain information about what happened during the assassination. She gets a record that leaves no doubt that Koonepher-Trest no longer had the opportunity to speak his successor's name into the Designatum. She can also see him talking to two Shetorners, handing over the vectorion (although she does not recognize the object) to one of them and kissing him on the cheek. Timis-Tiapha puts her people on the two unknowns. This begins the hunt for Perry Rhodan and Bostich.

Rhodan's having some trouble getting Bostich to work with him. The former Imperator wants to return to the Milky Way as soon as possible to fight the Atopic Tribunal. He is not interested in Rhodan's plans to find out more about the possible connection between Larhatoon and the Milky Way. He also finds himself working with Voruder-Paac and Gesspyr Hocctosser, to whom Rhodan even tells them that he holds the vectorion. Rhodan's idea of winning the Larens as members of the intergalactic confederation envisaged in the San Project has already met with more approval from Bostich, and he realizes that it would be unwise to let himself be drawn into the forthcoming power struggles. The journey should not continue with the HOPTCHER-VOIC. This would attract too much attention; currently all Laren ships are being held in the system. Rhodan has a better idea. In orbit around the neighboring planet Patthaxa floats the OVPASHIR, a spaceship of the Lucbarni. As guests of this people, largely ignored by the Larens, Rhodan, Bostich and their two companions could inconspicuously disappear.

The Lucbarni, inhabitants of their own domain in Larhatoon, are a peaceful, self-sufficient people. The non-human creatures are reminiscent of upright turtles with a long, extendable neck, a chest arm and thin bony legs. Heat is an elixir of life for them; fire plays an important role in their culture and everyday life. Volcanic worlds like Patthaxa are their home. Rhodan makes contact with Osueo, the commander of the OVPASHIR. This requires some trickery. Gesspyr Hocctosser and Voruder-Paac play along. At the latest when Bostich smashes a robot in the research station on Patthaxa, to which the four companions are transferred by transmitter, with his Haluter arm, it becomes clear to the Laren and the Onryone that there is more to the Shetorners than was initially suspected. After Rhodan has told the Lucbarni as much as he can risk, Osueo is happy to help him and his companions. All four move into guest quarters in the OVPASHIR.

The Lucbarni still remain in the system, because the Designation finally takes place. A public broadcast shows how Baudencerc activates the Designatum. Koonepher-Trest’s voice is heard. Aipanu-Cel, the Coordinator of four Laren sub-domains, is appointed the new First Hetran. Someone must have manipulated the Designatum. But who?

Now the OVPASHIR flies away. When the ship enters hyperlight flight, the finger bone floating in the vectorion stops its erratic movements and points in a certain direction…
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, that was a fun little adventure. The political intrigue continues. I would think that Bostich could look a little more in the long range at this point in his life, but no, he's totally focused on the short attempt of getting back to the Milky Way and back into power. I hope there isn't too great an emphasis on Lucbarni culture next issue; I like the small doses as is given this issue.

2738 Domain of the Fire People

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

Volume 2738
Domain of the Fire People
Domäne des Feuervolks
By Susan Schwartz

A Laren gains access to the rooms of the Greiko Baudencerc. He claims to be Avestry-Pasik and that Koonepher-Trest had actually named him his successor as First Hetran. Baudencerc has to admit that this is true and that he has manipulated the Designation to prevent a fratricidal Laren war. The old First Hetran spoke the name of the leader of the Proto-Hetostes days ago into the Designatum. But how, Baudencerc wants to know, can Avestry-Pasik be so sure about his cause? The Laren claims the Vectorion calls to him. It is a real relic, namely the finger bone of a para-gifted Ur-Laren. The Vectorion is the legitimate possession of the First Hetran and legitimizes this person in his office. Avestry-Pasik can still feel the call of the Vectorion. He now knows that Perry Rhodan has taken the Vectorion. Filled with hatred, he follows the OVPASHIR, which is on its way to the Lucbarni World-Space-Habitat LUCVAIT.

Rhodan meets the Fire Tongue Venerayke, a senior adviser to Osueo. She realizes that Rhodan is not a Shetorner, but does not penetrate further into his nature. She perceives a "long breath" on him and Bostich, which is probably the vital energy of the cell activators. Something similar has been felt by Venerayke many years ago when she was involved in the investigation of the Omega Fragmentarium on the planet Cautghossor in the Lucbarni domain. This artifact must have crashed on the planet ages ago. There are only huge debris pieces left, including an Atopic Synaptor which was found. Venerayke believes that she had heard the sound of the Big Bang when investigating the artifact. She is still being driven by this experience. It turns out that the Vectorion points to the center of Larhatoon, where the Atopic domain is the domain of Shyoricc. The entire area is shielded by a gigantic repulsor wall and is therefore out of reach. The Haynesser system, which includes Cautghossor, is on the way there. Since it is located in the area of the hyperstorm reef Flaming Gold Space, so it cannot be operated in by the OVPASHIR. The LUCVAIT flame gondola, however, has an old long range transmitter that can be used to bridge the route to Jacpruna, a moon of Cautghossor.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was a really fun issue. It even included the first reference to the Hereafter Lands, which will clearly become much more important later on. I wonder how long it will take to meet the Judge in the walled off Haynesser system. It's bound to happen. And the Atopic Synaptor will surely be showing up in the Milky Way soon enough. So there is plenty of stuff to look forward to.

Near the LUCVAIT the OVPASHIR is attacked by three Laren Face ships. One of them shows the face of Avestry-Pasik near the end of the battle. The Lucbarni seek no disputes and are hardly vulnerable due to their Gravo-lens protection systems, but know how to fight back. With their Hypercatapults they teach a lesson to the proto-Hetostes. The Face ships retreat as the OVPASHIR receives reinforcement from the LUCVAIT. Bostich takes a closer look at the Lucbarni's impressive weapon systems, while Rhodan and Venerayke, Osueo, Osueo’s son Voanos and Neacue (who was supposed to have stayed behind in the OVPASHIR), are sent to Jacpruna. In the local research station, he learns that from the nearby Pethpar system, which is inhabited by the Vidrites, a radio message is broadcast that can be received in the whole of Larhatoon. The message contains the number Pi and a million digit prime number and says that the Vidrites work on a unique hyperlight drive.

The Omega Fragmentarium is a cluster of bizarre fractal pieces of debris scattered over several kilometers that eludes more detailed analysis. The Atopic Synaptor is undamaged. All around it people feel a very special aura, but only when Rhodan takes a place in the Synaptor, does the object react. Rhodan gazes into infinity and sees faces whose number, strangely enough, he knows very well - they are ten raised to the one hundred twenty-third, a vigintillion faceted face. The faces literally see everything. They perceive every elementary particle that ever existed, and they know all events right back to the Big Bang. Rhodan hears two messages: "Do not be afraid. Everything has just begun" and "We are in the Hereafter Lands”. Rhodan is more deeply impressed than when he rejected the answer to the Third Ultimate Question on the Mountain of Creation . He conceals this experience to his companions. He instead says that nothing happened and suggests going next to the Vidrites.

2739 The Star Callers

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

Volume 2739
The Star Callers
Die Sternenrufer
By Uwe Anton

The Vidrites have been operating spaceflights within the confines of their solar system for several generations. They are facing an epochal breakthrough: The launch of the first manned superluminal spacecraft takes place. Khild and Thiajin, the only crewmembers of the transition- powered PATHADD, successfully complete the transition, but the ship explodes shortly after the rematerialization. The Vidrites believe in an accident, but Perry Rhodan and his companions know better. They have the small Lucbarni sloop KOLOSHO, protected by a powerful anti-location system, based at a waiting position in the Pethpar system. They observe unnoticed how the Onryone spaceship OUKEVOY destroys the completely defenseless Vidrite ship. A survivor is rescued by the OUKEVOY, then the spherical ship sets course for Vi, the home planet of the Vidrites.

The presence of the Onryones takes the whole mission to a whole new dimension, but the Lucbarni continue to support Rhodan. When the Terran hears the message of the Onryone Vassanar Ghesscy to the Vidrites, he realizes that he must intervene. Ghesscy claims that transition engines are life-threatening, which was impressively demonstrated by the destruction of the PATHADD. In the name of the Atopic Tribunal, he offers the Vidrites a technology transfer, through which the people - which of course he stays silent about – are to be incorporated into the Atopic Ordo. The Vidrites would then, like all other races of Larhatoon, depend on the Atopes and their aid peoples. Chanpaja, the Vhemej (head of government) of Vi, is skeptical, but is gradually enticed by Ghesscy.

In order not to compromise the Lucbarni, Rhodan travels on Vi alone with Neacue. Since the Vidrites are absolutely human-like except for a Cyclops frontal eye, it is no problem for Rhodan to mix disguised among the people and gather information. His primary target is the Cedejat, a radio station that emanates the message receivable everywhere in Larhatoon. This has a kind of paramechanical watermark, which Rhodan wants to imprint with his own signature ("SOS PR" in Morse code). This is what the helpers from the Milky Way whose early arrival Rhodan believes he can expect for certain reasons, will find his trail with. Time is short, because Ghesscy has already demanded the shutdown of the Cedejat. In order to warn the unsuspecting Vidrites of the Onryones, Rhodan must free the survivor from the PATHADD because she knows the truth. It's a breeze with Neacue’s help. Rhodan gets the badly injured Thiajin from the OUKEVOY. She is still conscious enough to call on the intelligence service. So Rhodan gets in touch with Chanpaja, to whom he explains the situation in Larhatoon.

Chanpaja trusts Rhodan and defies Ghesscy's request. The Cedejat remains activated. Rhodan gets permission to feed in his signature. The young Vidrites Kathapor and Vhicia lead him to the Cedejat. The paramechanical watermark is imprinted on the program by a psi-gifted Vidrite. Neacue agrees to stay behind on Vi and await Rhodan's helpers. Meanwhile, Ghesscy has suspected and located the KOLOSHO. He destroys the Lucbarni sloop with a combat glider, but shortly thereafter, just like the OUKEVOY, he is shot down by three Laren Face ships. Avestry-Pasik has arrived...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What an action-packed issue. Uwe packed in a lot of fun stuff before pulling the rug out from under Perry. It's a shame I'll have to wait months before the cycle goes back to him. :> It's nice to see an Onryone ship of any kind can be destroyed. It's the first sign of any possibility for progress.

2740 Reaching for the Galacticum

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

Nr. 2740
Reaching for the Galacticum
Griff nach dem Galaktikum
Arndt Ellmer

One and a half years after the fall of the Kreit system, relative calm prevails in the Milky Way. Gradually, the Atopic Ordo is being established. Some peoples, including the Arkonides, cooperate with the Atopic Tribunal. The Arkonides leave their planet, many settling on Terra. Vetris-Molaud, Maghan of the New Tamanium, is still anxious to integrate the last free Tefroder states into his empire. Resistance is stirring everywhere, in part organized by the New USO, which has been declared a terrorist organization by the Atopes. The Onryones are transferring huge spaceship clusters from their undiscovered bases to different focal points of the Galacticum, including Aurora . Penccas Khelliod , commander of the Space Father SHOYOO receives the long-awaited order, to install the first Ordic Stele for the Milky Way on the center of the world of the Galacticum.

Of course, the preparations for this campaign do not go unnoticed. Uldormuhecze Foelybeczt , Chairman of the Galacticum, raises the alarm as 11,500 Onryone ships approach. They face 42,000 units of the Galactic Fleet, mainly Posbi-BOXES under the command of Plasma Commander Catalan Number Cruncher. UFo secretly meets Monkey. The USO Chief came in the Halo system under the mask of the Mehandor Tenkroden with the cog ship SINCLAIR MAROUT KENNON. Monkey has active in Aurora Specialists including the Akone Khy's tan Nephtar , daughter of Councilman Osyr tan Nephtar, and her lover, the Terran Zahran Ushindi. With Ushindi, who creates deceptively lifelike hologram installations in his undercover existence as a freelance artist, Monkey has something very special in mind. For him, it is clear that the delaying tactics pursued by the LFT and Galacticum will soon become a real war. Monkey's ultimate goal is the seizure of a linear space torpedo, because with this weapon system stands and falls the current superior power of the occupiers.

On May 16, 1516 NGE Khelliod announced his intentions, but is rebuffed by UFo. Then the Onryone sets a three-day ultimatum, after which he makes good on his threat and destroys Aurora's neighbor Noros. Despite their numerical superiority, the Posbis have nothing to oppose the Onryones with, because they can fire their torpedoes even from the linear space with absolute accuracy. With Noros go the Erinn- flying snakes, a species whose intelligence had just been discovered by Ushindi and reported to the Onryones. UFo denounces this genocide in a Milky Way broadcast program. The SHOYOO approaches Aurora. Khelliod sets UFo a final deadline. He will build the Ordic Stele on Aurora at all costs - or on its rubble.

So far everything has gone exactly as expected by Monkey. Now his plan can go into operation...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I found this to be a very effective issue, showing the ruthlessness of the Atopic Tribunal. They'll even go to the length of exterminating a whole species of burgeoning intelligences to get their way. I'm very interested in seeing how Monkey's plan works out next issue.

2741 The Ordic Stele

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

Nr. 2741
The Ordic Stele
Die Ordische Stele
By Christian Montillon

Since there is no protection against the Onryonic linear space torpedoes , Uldormuhecze Foelybeczt must agree to the installation of the Ordinary Stele on Aurora. The 300 meter-high structure will be built under the guidance of the Toloceste in the middle of the capital, with the Onryones destroying some previously cleared buildings to make room. The stele is anchored in the ground with the ellipsoidal base and the excavation is transformed. From this, a 100 meter wide, completely flat strip of ruby is created around the stele. UFo is the first person allowed to approach the stele. When he touches the pyramid, the face of Matan Addaru Dannoer forms there. UFo is asked what injustice he is lamenting. Later, Penccas Khelliod informs him that the wisdom of the Atopic people lives in the steles . They are to be placed everywhere in the Milky Way , and to speak rightly in cases of conflict until the Atopic Ordo is fully realized and the galaxy is divided into domains.

Despite this success Khelliod has cause for dissatisfaction, because the computer systems of Aurora are blocked from any third-party access. From a Jaj spy Khelliod learns that are codes needed stored in the brains of three colleagues whose names and addresses the shape-shifter has already scouted out. Nevertheless, the three people cannot be intercepted in time. The Hasproner Luba Sieben has already gone to the secret meeting place. The Arkonide Aksandar as Hay-Boor (Deputy Ambassador and brass dreamer ) is on the run from the Onryonic captors with help from a Haluter. The Dron Enderquett remembers his time as a Sarkan fighter and defeats the capture commando team single-handedly.

With a trick UFo gets an audience with Khelliod in his Space Father SHOYOO. He is accompanied by two bodyguards: The para talented Maaliter Vetos Báalter and the Mehandor Tenkroden who also supposedly has psi powers. In Tenkroden's voluminous body hides Monkey and the Swoon Gyr Boskaide. The hyperenergetic emanations of the supposed para-abilities of the cocoon body-mask they are in are artificially generated. Monkey uses one of the of Zahran Ushindi created and Boskaide improved Holo-dramas in order to give the impression to Khelliod, that Tenkroden had used his suggestive forces to simulate committing the assassination of UFo, but now has fled from the ship. Khelliod does not believe this story, but can prove nothing against UFo and must let him go. Tenkroden is nowhere to be found.

Under the protection of a newly developed Individual Paros Veil , Monkey and the Swoon can move unhindered in the SHOYOO. The veil is based on a HÜ screen, which is charged by the constant burning of Salkrit. In the process, lethal radiation is released. Even Monkey, the Oxtorner protected by a cell activator has only eight hours before irreparable body damage occurs. Boskaide has volunteered because he is close to death anyway due to an incurable disease. The aim of the two of them is the theft of a linear space torpedo. These weapons, however, are too big to be clamped under your arm. So Monkey has to shoot a torpedo out of the ship! This is also his only escape route. The torpedo and the attached Oxtorner (who holds the dead Swoon in his hands) are then picked up by the Springer ship BLOSS'TERAN , which has been waiting for this very moment.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What a great issue! It was really nice to see Monkey in the field and the toll that the sacrifices of the people he is losing is having on him. Superb action, character development and actual story movement. We must be reaching the midway point of this cycle. LOL

2742 Psionic Duel

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

Nr. 2742
Psionic Duel
Psionisches Duell

By Leo Lukas

Matan Addaru Dannoer feels close to his end. In searching for a new body for his Lord, Angakkuq encounters the planet Yo in the Milky Way Southside, or rather the psi potential of some of the people who live there. They are descendants of para-gifted Terran Jabari Gneppo, the only survivor of a discus ship of space nomads crashed in the year 1481 NGE on Yo through his fault. Gneppo has inherited his skills from his ancestors. These were Báalol Seven Hundred clones from the Geneva factories of Cantaro, while his mother was a Spark child. Gneppo has risen to become the ruler of the Lemurer's descendants living on Yo for a long time now and fathered children with numerous wives. They all have paraphysic abilities, though not nearly as much as their father. This makes Gneppo and his children the object of Dannoer's desire. Immediately, his 232-COLPCOR heads for the Yoster system.

The inhabitants of Yos are on a pre-astronautical development stage and have no contact with the civilizations of the Milky Way. Gneppo has never tried to change that, especially since the nomad ship ONLY THE LIAR IS IN HASTE is practically scrap. Not all of his subjects are happy with the new ruler, whose hypnosuggestive powers are a kind of magic to them. Kaen Emund, a brilliant technician and secret poet, has a special grudge against Gneppo, for his mother succumbed to the seductive arts of the gentle despot and left him and his later dying alcoholic father. Kaen plans Gneppo's assassination, but unexpectedly becomes one of his most important helpers as Dannoer lands on Yo and prepares to absorb the para-potential of Gneppo and his children, perhaps even to take over Gneppo's body. The Atope cannot be stopped by any of their powers or primitive weapons. Shots practically go through him, and when one of Gneppo's sons attacks him with psi powers, the Atope strikes back and kills him.

Gneppo is forced to intervene personally. He forces Dannoer into a psionic duel. Undaunted, Gneppo appears to throw everything at the overly self-assured Atope, but distracts him by actually attacking the much more vulnerable Angakkuq. At this moment, Kaen fires the jury-rigged impulse cannons of the ONLY THE LIAR IS IN HASTE at the 232-COLPCOR. Gneppo is killed, but Dannoer and his ship are so badly damaged that they have to flee from Yo. This information is sent by Gneppo’s children with the still functioning Hyper-radio of the nomad ship out into the Milky Way. The message is broadcast on May 26, 1516 NGE and picked up by the Explorer EX-41 ship, the BOSTON.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I must admit that I found this issue to be a bit slow, until the last third of it. I did appreciate the link to PR history, with the descendants of the Monos bred Octo clones. And it was nice to see the Atopes face another setback.

On another subject, I'll be heading out on vacation late next week, so if I don't finish the next issue before that, may you all have a great holiday season and New Year's and I'll see you back here in January!

2743 The Black Palace

2743
The Black Palace
Der Schwarze Palast
By Michelle Stern

Luna has left orbit around the Dhalaam Delta neutron star, but was only able to move a short distance before the transpositor network finally collapsed. It is now May 1516 NGE - the Lunarians have lost almost two years. YLA learns that the Repulsor Wall is due to be shut down soon because of the damage to the network and that there is an Onryone ship near the Black Palace, from which a radio message could be emitted to the Milky Way with all the information that the lunar resistance has collected so far. A team is put together. Toufec, Fionn Kemeny and Pazuzu are also on board. Although Shanda Sarmotte is not enthusiastic about the idea of going again near the Black Palace, she takes part in the expedition led by Pri Sipiera. Pazuzu behaves like a stubborn adolescent, but is the crucial factor in this mission, because only he can ensure that the team is not discovered and that Shanda does not suffer too much from the Black Palace’s broadcast. However, the nano-Djinn has to be convinced to work first, which is not so easy.

The penetration succeeds. The five of them board the 400-meter Onryone ship GHOOPESS, which turns out to be a kind of old people's home, penetrate into the headquarters and send off the radio message. It is picked up by the EX-823 collected, which has tracked and followed the 232 COLPCOR on its way to Luna. They must now, however, flee from attacking Onryone ships. The arrival of the badly battered 232-COLPCOR is registered in the GHOOPESS. Matan Addaru Dannoer is still alive but has to regenerate quickly in the labor pit of Sganshan on Luna. A new Agentum (an action body) must be created for him. Pri wants to take the chance and destroy the ship together with the Atope, but Pazuzu insists that the GHOOPESS be evacuated beforehand. The attack should take place after that, but the 232-COLPCOR shoots faster and destroys the GHOOPESS. The team now goes inside the Black Palace. The Atope ship disintegrates into its tt-progenitors and gradually reforms itself. Pazuzu takes in some tt-progenitors. After psycho- traps have been overcome, it is observed how the avian Sganshan literally skins Matan Addaru Dannoer - this is how the well-known Pelts are created, then a new old Judge (with a new name) rises: Matan Addaru Jabarim.

The newly strengthened Atope perceives Pazuzu's presence, or rather that of the tt-progenitors, which have become part of the nano-jinn and are beginning to influence it. Pazuzu refuses to attack Matan Addaru Jabarim. Shanda and Toufec have to flee with him, which is what the mini-spherical ship THOERIS now created by Pazuzu is used for. Pri and Kemeny remain on Luna while the THOERIS leaves the heavenly body. Toufec's destination is the city of Aures. Only there can Pazuzu be "cured".
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was a pretty good issue. We learn more about how the Atopes biology works, there is forward movement and there's plenty of action. We're clearly heading to the midpoint climax of the cycle. :>

Oh well, I'm off on holiday vacation till New Year's so happy holidays to all and Happy New Year! See you on the other side.

2744- At Arkon’s Roots

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

Nr. 2744
At Arkon’s Roots
An Arkons Wurzeln
By Verena Themsen

The Arkonides are running out of time. Vice-Imperator Tormanac da Hozarius recognizes that the withdrawal from the Arkon system required by the Atopic Tribunal cannot be achieved within the three years that have been negotiated. While the evacuation is being pushed forward by the Onryones, sometimes with unnecessary harshness - conquered funnel buildings of aristocratic families that still resist are blown up in front of the eyes of the former owners, as those who do not leave voluntarily are paralyzed and transported away - Tormanac asks the Atope Chuv for an extension of the deadline. The request is flatly rejected. Since the Vice-Imperator can be used as a buffer between his people and the Atopic Tribunal (some Arkonides even consider him a collaborator), he is offered a cell activator as a reward. However, for the time being he is only allowed to put it on for a short time now and then, and that's not enough to stop the progress of his Khesdar's disease. Tormanac takes refuge in conversations with his dead friend, the Naat Ghlesduul, and in the virtual world of Brass Dreamers.

Prince Alhos Ta-Amonte is one of those nobles who do not want to leave their Khasurn voluntarily. However, his forces are not up to the Onryonian superiority. The prince has to flee, only accompanied by Pellindor da Shamonay, the friend of his rebellious grandson Rafir. Pellindor comes from a noble house that fell out of favor thousands of years ago for reasons that are no longer known. The prince regards Pellindor as a parasite but is dependent on his help because he was fatally wounded and wants to be laid to rest in the Raptured Fields at the Rakkalin Ruin. Although Alhos Ta-Amonte had nothing but insults for Pellindor until his death, and despite an order from the prince to the contrary, Pellindor keeps watch over the dead man, directed by Docer Botest, the Shepherd of the Absent.

The next day, the Onryone spacecraft QOSTOR appears, whose crew is looking for material for counterfactual research in the ruins. Botest is asked to clear the cemetery, and Pellindor must fear that he will be arrested. The two receive unexpected help from the old Arkonide woman, Gissilin, who has been hanging around in the Raptured Fields for some time and is by no means mentally confused, as Botest had assumed. She is part of a research team led by Marnik dom Troghar, which is investigating an archive hidden under the ruins. The facility was already the object of secret research in the time of the United Empire and the old USO, but is much older than them. Pellindor and Botest are led there by Gissilin. The archive contains data on the reasons for banning the Khasurn da Shamonay. At the time of the Methane Wars, one of Pellindor's ancestors became a traitor, but only to save his people.

When the Onryons penetrate the facility, most of the researchers flee. Botest is arrested and carried away. The Onryone woman Ai Coulonn has herself led by Gissilin deeper into the facility, and Pellindor may accompany her in order to help the supposedly frail old woman. Counter-historians such as Ai Coulonn try to find crucial turning points in history and extrapolate alternative developments so that the Atopic Tribunal can subsequently eliminate negative results. Ancient records are retrieved from the heart of the archive, showing that the Naats were by no means primitive before the arrival of the Arkonides, but had developed a high culture. Foreign astronauts who first attacked the people of Iprasa through genetic manipulation of the Taa insects were responsible for the Naats falling back into primitiveness. In order to avoid the complete annihilation of their civilization, the Naats had withdrawn to an underground city, but were then practically extinct.

Ai Coulonn is pleased that the Atopic Tribunal's theses regarding ownership in the Arkon system have now been proven and becomes distracted. Gissilin takes advantage of the moment, stabs the woman and gives her truth serum. This forces the dying Onryone to reveal why the Atopic Tribunal decided against the annexation of Terra and instead carry out the conquest of Arkon. Ai Coulonn says that only on Arkon I is the Atopic Conductor, the backbone of any operation by the Atopic Tribunal, really safe. Naat should become the control world of this. Gissilin remains behind to allow Pellindor to escape. The holographic guide Nathan Kreisz shows the young Arkonide the way out. Pellindor must now ensure that others find out the real reason for occupying the Arkon system…
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome back everyone! This was a pleasant issue to come back to. We get some history for the Naats and Arkonides, and more of the machinations of the Atopic Tribunal and the Tefroders. Let's see where things go from here. Soon enough we'll be at the halfway point of the cycle.

Uwe Anton

On many planets of the Milky Way Ordic steles are being set up. They are allegedly mini-courts of the Atopic Tribunal that can be used by anyone to get justice in accordance with the Atopic Ordo, but in reality are symbols of the progressive occupation of the galaxy. Resistance seldom rises as on Vysninc, a planet inhabited by the Gatas in the Iivirin system. But when the stele there is attacked, it defends itself and emits deadly vibrations, which many Gatasers fall victim to. The news of this debacle finally reaches Maharani, where the government of the LFT is set up. Ordic steles are already on more than thirty League planets, and now, on June 12, 1516 NGE, it is the turn of the Yogul system. Shekval Genneryc personally gives himself the honor and marches with a fleet that is at least equal to the defenders of the LFT central system. Three steles are to be erected in the Yogul system. In addition, the Solar Residence is to be transferred to the Atopic Tribunal; LAOTSE should participate in the plans to divide the Milky Way into domains.

Resident Arun Joschannan is given two days to consider this. The situation doesn't look rosy. PRAETORIA is on site, but Colonel Ajax Torquil, the commander of the mighty ship, leaves no room for doubt in Arun’s mind that a space battle cannot be won, because only Maharani and some other planets of the Yogul system can be protected by a Paratron screen. All other worlds would be exposed defenseless to the Onryonic linear space torpedoes. Joschannan faces the hardest decision of his life so far. War would be tantamount to their demise, but a surrender would also be the beginning of the end, because the LFT would not survive this loss of face. Joschannan gains new hope, as Homer G. Adams and TLS Chief Attilar Leccore come to Maharani. However, they only have bad news. Secret information keeps leaking out to the Onryones, and there can be only one reason for this - an LFT government member has been replaced by a Jaj shapeshifter.

In fact, the Atopic Tribunal did get wind of a new Terran secret project, of which little is known other than the code word » ZbV «. Vetris-Molaud receives an order from Tesqire Dhayqe to find out more about this project. The Tefroder ruler puts Satafar and Lan Meota on the matter.

Sichu Dorksteiger, the Chief Scientist of the LFT is going to the Posbi space station WHEELER in the southern West Side with the battle cruiser GLASTONBURY to check on the progress of the ZbV project. The GLASTONBURY docks at the PONTOON tender ATLAS XXI, whose Epsal commander Manu Porcaru proudly explains to Sichu what she has long known: the new type of Hawk-IV and Hawk-V compensation converters developed on Ockham's world and equipped with their own redundant energy supply are ready. With these converters, among other things, fantastic ranges can be achieved, and they also enable a spaceship to remain stationary in semi-space. Part of the aggregates is the so-called DeBeer charger, with which a semi-space bubble can be created, inside which the hyperimpedance is greatly reduced.

The journey continues to the Posbi dark world Culsu. The GLASTONBURY delivers some suspension banks there. Onja Culsu, Toja Zanabazar, the "mother" of OTHERWISE, and the Ferrone Vetulon Culsander are working on ANANSI, a supercomputer whose actual computer technology is stored outside the standard universe. One visible component is an eight meter diameter sphere filled with cobweb-like structures, in the center of which hovers something that looks like a five-year-old girl. ANANSI is brought into the GLASTONBURY. The cruiser undocks from the tender and continues to the Springer, Terran and other peoples operated Talos shipyard planet in the Hephaistos system. Not only cargo ships are built there ...

Meanwhile, Adams and Leccore use their skills to expose the traitor - or rather the traitors, because both Vellim, the Swoon Minister for Information and Data Protection, and Mael Tanguy , the local TLS chief, are Jaj shapeshifters. Important details about Adams' intentions are revealed as bait for the infiltrators. The plan is for PRAETORIA and the League fleet to hold the Onryones through skirmishes for a few days, then "flee" to Omega Centauri and expel the relatively weak Onryonic forces there. Then »ZbV« will follow via sun transmitter, and there will also be a broadcast from Andromeda received. The cabinet agrees to the plan. Vellim takes off to pass the news on to his masters. When he is arrested, he commits suicide by detonating a bomb hidden in his floating platform.

On June 14, Arun Joschannan goes public and announces that the Onryone ultimatum would not be given in to. The Solar Residence is sealed off by twenty-four TARA-XT battle robots and is intended to return to Terra. The Terran combat groups gather. At 1:10 PM. Joschannan gives the order to attack…
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Uwe Anton always provides a fun ride. ANANSI looks to be a very entertaining addition to PR artificial beings and it's always fun to see Homer Adams earning his cell activator. With the new ship and hopefully an answer to the linear torpedoes coming, there should be a turning point coming.

2746 Launch the REGINALD BULL

Launch the REGINALD BULL

Start der REGINALD BULL

By Marc A. Herren

In the Yogul system, a space battle between the Onryones and the Terran defenders starts. Both sides move carefully, so that initially there are only slight losses. In order to provide Homer G. Adams with the necessary time to deploy the ZbV ship and at the same time to protect the Solar Residence from access by the Atopic Tribunal, Arun Joschannan initiates a risky deception. It shall carried out using the second Jaj-shapeshifter, in the role of the local TLS Cheif Mael Tanguyand, who believed not to have been exposed. Joschannan negotiates another extension of the deadline for the handover of the Residence and lets the information out that the Steel Orchid has been turned into a bomb and been filled with combat robots to conquer the HOOTRI. LAOTSE was allegedly removed and is said to be secretly being brought into the Wega system. However Joschannan hesitates too long, and Shekval Genneryc orders the Ekawota spaceport on Maharani destroyed with a linear space torpedo. To take over the Residence, the Onryones send unmanned and therefore less powerful ships, which are destroyed by PRAETORIA. Onryonic ships fly into the Wega system to at least intercept LAOTSE. Of course, they also fail. Chuv, who is reported to by Shekval Genneryc, is more amused than angry. Shortly afterwards, Cai Cheung announces the safe return of the Residence to Terra.

Another component for the ZbV project is being built on the Talos shipyard planet: the Ogygia recreation area. ANANSI is curious and wants to know what it feels like to visit a planet. She experiences this via SEMT technology through the eyes of the Kamashite Shalva Galaktion Shengelaia. He wears the AI around with him on his "mental veranda". Then the GLASTONBURY proceeds to the Kharag-Sun Dodecahedron in Omega Centauri. The entire region has gone from Galacticum to Haluter Protectorate status. The Haluter Pacho Doram is on site with the CORNOR LERZ and allows Sichu Dorksteiger's ship to approach. The Tefrod commander Penanser-Viriu, who come looking for the ZbV ship, which he is to conquer or destroy if necessary, with a fleet of 2,920 units, is not allowed to do so. He insists that he is on the road on behalf of the Atopic Tribunal. Pacho Doram says he will take it under advisement, aggravating him. The situation threatens to escalate.

Then the REGINALD BULL appears in the sun transmitter, a 7750-meter-high Terran ship consisting of three spherical ships flanged together at the poles, which literally hoists sails made of metal foil on extendable masts, makes transitions almost from a standing position and begins to fire from all pipes. The Tefroders are in dire straits. Penanser-Viriu is convinced that he has the ZbV ship in front of him but is reluctant to fire because Lan Meota and Satafar are teleporting into the three-sphere ship to install a tracking transmitter and plant bombs. Since the REGINALD BULL cannot be conquered, the Tefroders end up destroying it. Vetris-Molaud publicly brags about this success. He later learns from his mutants that the Terran ship was empty of living beings, had no internal communication systems and no other facilities that were essential for a crew. The REGINALD BULL was just a dummy. Vetris-Molaud keeps this to himself. He has Penanser-Viriu and his officers murdered by the mutants in order to eliminate all those who know about them.

Attilar Leccore visits Homer G. Adams in his country house near Tunbridge Wells to tell him about the success of the ZbV project. The two toast the real special applications ship, named the RAS TSCHUBAI.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was an exceptionally entertaining issue. It appears that ANANSI is going to be another willful LFT AI. Meanwhile the action came hot and heavy, in the middle of espionage occurring on all sides of the conflict. Only another three issues and we're at the midway point of the cycle. The one thing left clearly unresolved was where the GLASTONBURY was heading as the REGINALD BULL was destroyed. I'm we'll see soon enough.

2747 New Atlantis

No. 2747

New Atlantis
Neu-Atlantis

By Wim Vandemaan

The city of New Atlantis on Terra is more than just a temporary refuge for the Arkonides expelled from their homeland. It should become a real home for them. For this purpose, Chorest da Ragnaari works with the ingenious architect Nior Carok, whom he will soon come a lover of. Nior's plans are extremely ambitious. New Atlantis should consist of seven large districts. Terceira and the other Azores islands would be united by gigantic bridges and a huge pile of dirt. This way, Atlantis could really emerge! Most Terran Arkonides welcome this, but some people view the rapid growth of New Atlantis and the never-ending influx of Arkonide refugees with suspicion and concern. Nior claims that she acquired Atlan's deep-sea dome - the ownership rights were allegedly unclear, so they could be exploited. On July 6, 1516 NGE she makes contact with Farye Sepheroa, who is still looking after her grandfather Perry Rhodan's house at 746 Upper West Garnaru Road in Terrania. The architect suggests relocating this building, in which not everything is normal, to New Atlantis. The Tefroder isn't interested, but her mood changes when Nior casually drops the names of Farye's parents: Yanid amya Caadil and Sephero Ceelsen...

Chorest does not only finance the construction of New Atlantis with his own considerable assets. He also has a few donors, including a certain independent aid organization for the afflicted, the syndicate for the construction of planetary habitats and the Terran-Aarus consortium of Gen-Vision. The latter belongs to the IntOp movement, which aims to optimize the intelligence of all possible living beings with the help of technocytes. Some high-ranking representatives of G-Vision, including the evolutionary dynamist and IntOp spokesman Virgil Fludd, are also supporters of the Techno-Mahdi movement. Militant opponents of the intelligence optimizers, the so-called Gen-purists are waging a downright war against G-Vision. The consortium wants to move to New Atlantis, not least because Fludd has already conducted illegal experiments with animals that live off the island’s coast. This is how Lugal Banda and Nin Sun came into being, two intelligence-optimized giant squids of the Architeuthis species. The Aarus Laffandra looks after the two mighty beings.

Bennyd Paullu, an employee of the Institute for Biosphere Controlling, travels with his colleague Ellion Mancari to the Azores on behalf of the Interior Ministry to get to the bottom of G-Vision's machinations. After talking to Fludd, they go on a diving trip and promptly come across the intelligent giant squid. It turns out that Mancari is a gene purist. He acts on his own initiative, attacks the squids and kills Lugal Banda with a disintegrator. Paullu prevents him from murdering the female (already pregnant) squid. An accident occurs in the scuffle that Mancari falls victim. Paullu survives. He returns to his son, who has been suffering from Zesculor’s fever for a long time since a transmitter transport accident and is in a coma. Paullu has been telling the child his favorite story again and again all this time. All of a sudden, his son awakes from the coma.

Farye receives a visit from Pucky on July 11th. The mousebeaver invites her to help take the RAS TSCHUBAI on a long trip to Larhatoon to save Perry. She agrees but sets the condition that the young Haluter Avan Tacrol be allowed to come. Pucky stays overnight and dreams of being guided by something or someone out of a kind of labyrinth.

Chorest since Ragnaari talks to his friend, the surgeon Vonnertrost , about the impending birth of his son. Vonnertrost points out an interesting detail. If you arrange the letters of Nior Carok's name differently, it becomes » Rico Arkon «...

After all the action, this issue was a bit slow for my taste. The most interesting part was the side story involving Fayre and Perry's house. I do hope that it is finally delved into deeper and doesn't just fade away, never to be seen again. And will Atlan ever learn of the stealing of his emergency dome?

This issue has for reaching impact on several levels. Even in the current "Mythos" cycle "Neu-Atlantis" and its population seems to play an important role (though we will not know for another three weeks or so....).

As for Perrys house: No, it will not be forgotten. B-)

2748 The Shard of Heaven

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

No. 2748

The Shard of Heaven
Die Himmelsscherbe

By Michael Marcus Thurner

Reginald Bull was supposed to be dead, but he finds himself in a glaringly colorful house - naked and without knowing how he survived the annihilation of the JULES VERNE . Bull's discussions with the small teleporting frog creatures in the terrariums, which are set up in the house, remain one-sided. Bull only ventures outside into the ice storm after he has found a film stuck to the wall that proves to be a mimicry cloth with a translator function. Wrapped in this cloth, which gives him the shape of a human-sized, upright walking bat, he can easily withstand the freezing cold and speak to the other giant bats that populate the provincial town of Gonnter where the house is. Bull calls himself Rowdy Yates after a character embodied by Clint Eastwood from the ancient television series Rawhide. He receives information from the inquiry agents. These are city dwellers who preserve the knowledge of their people - this version of the information transfer is used because large parts of the planet Buq and all its data storage devices were destroyed by the crystal flash 35 years ago. The Buquer still suffer from an influence that seems to deprive them of their vitality, even at a great distance from the areas directly affected.

Bull's point of contact and future companion is the talkative Ostrateus, an outdated inquiry agency who soon realizes that Rowdy Yates is not the Buquer he appears to be. For Bull it is clear that the Sky Shard that is said to have triggered the crystal flash must be a spaceship that crashed on Buq. His guess is confirmed by Ruppigen Zafelloyk, who owns a piece of the wreckage. Bull now does everything possible to reach the crash site in Clecveyz. He makes his technical knowledge available to the Buquers, attracts investors and gathers around two dozen adventurers (including Zafelloyk, Ostrateus and his cheeky great-granddaughter Omye)(who becomes Bulls righthand person) and refurbishes an airship that takes off on the 43rd day after Bull’s arrival on Buq. After a few days, the devitalizing radiation becomes too strong. Zafelloyk dies. Bull travels alone with a diesel-powered tricycle and finally reaches the wreck of the spaceship. Even he, who is protected by a cell activator, does not remain unaffected by the radiation.

Bull hears shots and explosions inside the wreck, with strange amber elements encased in its metal. He gets caught between the fronts of a battle and throws improvised grenades. In doing so, he takes out one of the two opponents. The other is Quick Silver. The artificial being claims to have saved Bull. Its opponent is the gradually going insane AI of the crashed ship. Bull is convinced to help Quick Silver recover the mnemotectonic control unit of the ship. Quick Silver doesn't reveal why this relic of the Last First is so important, but promises that, if successful, Quick Silver will put in a good word for Bull in Pha Gashapar, the City of all Places. Perhaps Bull will then be able to return to the Milky Way. Quick Silver uses Bull as a decoy against the sector guard of the ship - the inclusions in the metal that Bull has already noticed. Put together they ensure the active functions of the ship. Quick Silver gives Bull a gun and a protective shield. Then he disappears as the attackers advance...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm glad to see Reginald back in action. And Thurner certainly gave him plenty to do. Quick Silver is such a pain in the butt, and I love it! He's a good foil for Reginald. It should be a pleasure to see what trouble he has gotten Reginald into. Next issue is the penultimate issue to the halfway point of the cycle. I can't wait.

Hi Jerry,
I think, that 2748 and 2749 are the best volumes in this first half of the cycle.
Michael Marcus Thurner at his best. Great to see how Bull develops and follows his own agenda as Rowdy Yates.
Quick Silver is mean as ever. I simply love both issues. Read them more than two times.

No. 2749

The City of All Places

Die Stadt Allerorten

Michael Marcus Thurner

While Reginald Bull is struggling with the defense systems of the spaceship wreck and is at the greatest risk, Quick Silver can calmly search for the mnemotectonic control unit and bring the central computer under control. Bull is saved at the last minute by him. Bull forces the computer to disable the Devitalization radiation, allows it to continue to exist and convinces it to allow the Buquers access to the ship. The control unit, which Quick Silver was supposed to have recovered on behalf of the Universal Archaeologists of the City of All Places (they are interested in all possible legacies of superintelligences, Cosmocrats and Chaotarchs ), turns out to not be on board the wreck. This means that the android cannot take Bull to Pha Gashapar as promised, because strict laws apply there, and one of these five Protocols states that unauthorized persons have no access. Before Quick Silver disappears, he warns Bull that the Identor must remain intact.

On his return to the airship, Bull is celebrated as a hero, and Omye proposes marriage to him. He lives with her for a while and tries to promote the technical progress of the Buquers in order to be able to leave the planet with her at some point. Then he realizes what Quick Silver really wanted to say with his warning. Bull damages the Identor fabric. A creature, reminiscent of a Chinese dragon with four legs, two arms, a lion's head and a human-like face, the body of which is covered with metal plates, appears promptly. It is Zhayo Penyyin, a Yothoy from the city of All Places, who has the task of monitoring the Identor. He realizes that Bull has a signature that allows him access to Pha Gashapar (it later turns out that Quick Silver Bull has used a "transient passe-partout" that, however, permanently damages the wearer's mind) and takes the Terrans still disguised as a Buquer into the Galassanand district. Bull's arrival is registered despite the passe-partout. Annthas Athelsam and Ghurlauc Gothoddin, two Commissioners of the Protocol for Integrity from the Stover people, are given the task of tracking down Bull. The two humanoid beings without legs, who move on spring arms and have a slim third arm where the navel is in humans, immediately get to work.

It takes a while for Bull to understand how huge Pha Gashapar really is. The neighborhoods, quarters and houses are called Breviatures and are distributed over countless planets in numerous galaxies. The Brevizones controlled by Intotronics serve as connecting paths. Among other things, Bull learns that a Protocol servant named Toidha Zyonaro lives in Pha Gashapar, who is considered an expert on the Atopic Tribunal. Zhayo Penyyin takes Bull to the party of Hiegost Chüpa Röljat. All that remains of this formerly reptilian creature, which comes from Fäncher and desperately wants to return there, but is denied it, is the brain stuck in a flight capsule. Hiegost sees Bull as the ideal helper, because the Terran is similar to him, and Chüpa Röljat knows Bull's secret and can therefore put him under pressure. Together they flee from the approaching Commissioners. Zhayo Penyyin is taken hostage. Their destination is the Dhavvao district. The monovalent seal is said to be there. It is supposed to be able to transform the transient passe-partout into an eternal passe-partout. Those, like Bull, who have the mental strength to control the seal could visit all parts of Pha Gaspaar, including restricted urban areas. That, says the Hiegost, is the only chance for the two very different companions to return to their respective homes.

When they reach their destination, Bull and his companions are attacked by the Commissioners. The Hiegost and Annthas Athelsam are killed in the fight. The seal literally falls into Bull's hands in the chaos. He immediately recognizes what it really is: it is a memoring. The object communicates mentally with Bull and confirms its acceptance. However, it is a Chaotarch's memoring! The memoring offers Bull the modification the cell activator. This would then function as an eternal passe-partout but would identify Bull forever as the Chaotarch's representative. Bull has no choice but to agree. In this way, Bull and Zhayo Penyyin can reach a very specific breviature of Pha Gaspaar’s - Perry Rhodan’s house at 746 Upper West Garnaru Road in Terrania!

Farye Sepheroa and Avan Tacrol are currently there. The date is July 11, 1516 NGE. The Haluter is wounded by Ghurlauc Gothoddin, who had followed Bull. Another person arrives: Quick Silver. He ends the fight and mediates between the opponents. The Stover withdraws after Bull has handed over the memoring and the Identor. The transient passe-partout is also taken from the Terran. Zhayo Penyyin is allowed to return to Pha Gashapar and will not be bothered. The Breviatur in Terrania is to be finally sealed. Bull can still return to Pha Gashapar at any time though. Quick Silver also has the White Room recovered from the JULES VERNE brought there. Bull realizes that the android has pulled the strings from the background from the start and played Bull to get the memoring into his hands. Bull arrests Quick Silver…
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow! What an action filled romp through the universe this was. I can't wait to see what happens the next time Reginald tries to enter a Cosmocrat cylinder. :> It was really nice to finally see something on what the real deal with Perry's house is. And boy, what a piece of work that Quick Silver is, right? I wonder what happens the next time Reginald meets Omye and she sees the real him. That should be fun.

2750 Departure

Nr. 2750
Departure
Aufbruch

Uwe Anton

On November 17, 1516 NGE, Reginald Bull confers with Cai Cheung, Arun Joschannan, Sichu Dorksteiger and other executives about the current situation in the Milky Way. More and more Ordic steles are being installed, but the LFT and New Galacticum are still holding back. Large parts of the fleet are on standby in hiding. Chuv has threatened the Sol system, in which he sees a nest of resistance, with a measure. Onryone ships discharged near the crystal screen have ejected countless linear space torpedoes for a week, which immediately leave the standard universe but do not attack. It was found that these torpedoes are emitting hyper-energy pulses at the crystal screen in linear space so that the screen will soon be impenetrable to Hyper-radio signals. Meanwhile Quick Silver has been getting studied in depth. The artificial being has a strange ÜBSEF constant, so it is possibly a living being. No exact details can be determined; even Gucky does not make any headway in a one-on-one conversation with Quick Silver. But there is also good news: the ZbV project is almost complete. The interior of the new long-distance spaceship RAS TSCHUBAI is not yet one hundred percent completed, but far enough that Commander Jawna Togoya is already leading the embarkation. Also on board are Pucky, Farye Sepheroa, Avan Tacrol and the Venus team. Quick Silver and Toio Zindher more or less take the trip as prisoners. The RAS TSCHUBAI is to become the new hope of the Terrans. The first goal is the liberation of Perry Rhodan. Meanwhile, his messages have been received, and the Posbis have discovered a star bridge portal to Larhatoon.

On November 25, Reginald Bull personally visits the SUPERNOVA-class omni-carrier long-distance ship, which is hidden in an asteroid of the Neo-Ganymede matrix and has no ring bulge. The crew size is unusually large at 35,000 people; In addition to powerful space landing units, teams are needed above all for the numerous tender boats. These include eight docked in the outer shell, battle cruisers of the MARS-class, 180 heavy and light cruisers, 360 corvettes and Minor-Globes and 528 Space-Jets, The LAURIN squadron, which is equipped with Paros converters and other anti-location systems, comprised of 36 jets. The performance data of the partially completely new drive systems are just as impressive as the offensive and defensive armament. The ship can be made practically invulnerable by an Aagenfelt barrier, in addition there are four projectors with which the effect of the barrier can be focused and thus used as a weapon of attack. This weapon is called the Aagenfelt Flash. The outer shell of the RAS TSCHUBAI is mixed with Salkrit, the resulting alloy becomes a material called Ynkalkrit. Together with two spindles, each 400 meters long, which can be extended from the ship's poles, the hull serves as a projector for the actual long range drive, the Hypertrans-Progressor. The Ogygia parkland, which is 1,800 meters in diameter and equipped with sports facilities and restaurants, as well as a few other green areas on the 30 main decks serve for recreational purposes.

TLS Chief Attilar Leccore fears that the confidentiality of the ZbV project is at risk. He sets his agent Auven Cnost on Sune Lerront, the owner of the Institute for Deepening Experiences. This man was commissioned by Dinh Baratt, a state secretary in the interior ministry, to organize the celebrations for the return of the Solar Residence to Terra. The date was set for February 24, 1517 NGE, because on this day Tefor will host a conference of the Atopic Tribunal that is very prestigious for the Tefroders will begin with representatives of all the Galactic peoples, with whom the final implementation of the Atopic Ordo in the Milky Way is to be planned. The Terrans want to counter this with an at least as sensational a celebration. Lerront was granted access to OTHERWISE for this purpose. He not only used it to find out which weather conditions are programmed for the day in question. Lerront found that something very special is going on at the Neo-Ganymede construction site. Leccore examines Lerront's past. After that it is clear to him that the man is a spy for Vetris-Molaud. Since the radio blockage is now complete, Lerront can only pass on his findings through a middleman. So the Terrans have enough time for a new deception. Lerront is made to believe that the goal of the project is to build a gigantic spaceship to evacuate a Posbi population to Andromeda. The » BOX-100,000 « actually starts on December 16. The Onryones promptly form a blockade. When the oversized Fragment ship and its escort made of fully robotic BOXES go above the speed of light outside the crystal screen, they are bombarded with linear space torpedoes. Only debris clouds re-materialize in the standard universe.

But the »BOX-100,000« was not destroyed, just an outer shell made of bizarre superstructures, inside which the RAS TSCHUBAI was hidden. As planned, the omni-carrier reaches the Morgenrot sector, where the remaining parts of the outer shell are blown off. This process is observed by the MANDALAY, a research ship from the LFT-owned planet Fraternitas. Reginald Bull reports to Commander Corbaci Kethüda. The Fraternitan is encouraged to wait a few days and then spread rumors of his observation. After the Haluter ship FANCAN TEIK has appeared and been docked, the RAS TSCHUBAI continues to the star portal AIKKAUD. The probes with Perry Rhodan's message had started from there. The enormous distance is bridged by the first use of the Hypertrans-Progressor. The entire crew must go into suspension alcoves that are set up all over the ship. The ANANSI on-board computer takes control while the crew is in suspension. On January 6, 1517 NGE the RAS TSCHUBAI reaches the vicinity of its destination safely…

Yes! I made it to the halfway point of the cycle. And Uwe Anton really delivered the goods. Reginald is on the trail of Perry, and the Galactics finally have a useful ship again. I enjoy espionage issues and this is a good example of it. We learn a bit of how the TLS Service operates and the mission is quickly carried out. Let's keep this up and this will have been one of the better cycles in "recent" years.

Gucky on AIKKAUD

Gucky auf AIKKAUD

By Leo Lukas

The Onryones of the AIKKAUD come across a conspiracy by the Larens in the investigation into the Galdkaut murder case. The deputy chief of security Dhael Dhusseniv comes to the c't onclusion that a terrorist cell of the Proto-Hetostes must be active on the star portal. In fact, the Provconer Nacour-Thaec, leader of the resistance fighters in the AIKKAUD, has just recruited a new member: the young network manager Teppac-Oshellar, The Laren is going to help with a suicide bombing. The goal is to destroy the star portal. The Proto-Hetostes want to send a signal that all Larens should be called to resistance. Dhusseniv quickly gets on the track of the terrorists, but not quickly enough. The bombs have already been laid. Suddenly an exchange of fire is registered - exactly where a sleeping pack rests, which includes Dhusseniv's son Hullnar. The terrorists took the children hostage. The Onryone personally storms the area but is amazed to find that the assassins have already been rendered harmless by two Onryones unknown to him and a small furred creature!

The furred creature is Gucky, and the "Onryones" are Baucis Fender and Bruce Cattai in cocoon masks. After Toio Zindher found out with her Para-ability that there were no cell activator bearers on the stargate, the mousebeaver and the Venus team flew with a space jet of the LAURIN squadron unnoticed to the AIKKAUD. They explored the situation there and looked for ways to sabotage the Onryonic supply route. Pucky comes upon the Aiunkko Splinter addict Manzaber and has learned from him that in the Galaxy Lajaspyanda exists an ancient myth, according to which there were once mental warriors of the people of the Yllit who roamed with their small spaceships and used their supernatural forces to have used to protect the weak and the helpless. Manzaber's thoughts were clear enough; the Yllit (if they ever existed) were mousebeavers. Benner, the Swoon super-hacker, collected information about the current conditions in Larhatoon and found references to the planned act of terrorism on the station. Pucky and the Venus team managed to avert the complete annihilation of the AIKKAUD and at the same time saved Hullnar and the other children from great danger, while interrupting the Onryone supply route between Larhatoon and the Milky Way.

Dhusseniv sees through the masquerade but keeps it to himself out of gratitude for the rescue of his son. Teppac-Oshellar realizes that he did wrong. He breaks away from the Proto-Hetostes. Gucky and the Venus team have achieved their goals. They return to the RAS TSCHUBAI. The omni-carrier has stayed unnoticed and continues to fly towards Larhatoon…

This was such an enjoyable issue! So much action and Gucky on mission - what more could I want? Not much new information was revealed, but everything went quickly, so there wasn't time to notice that. And once again we get a hint of other Ilts, but no real meat. I doubt we'll ever meet another one,but that's just how it goes.

2752 The Face of the Rebels

The Face of the Rebels
Das Antlitz des Rebellen
By Hubert Haensel

Perry Rhodan is a "guest" in Avestry-Pasik's rebel spaceship ZHOL-BANNAD. The Terran doesn't know what became of his friends, the Lucbarni. Avestry-Pasik requests the handing over of the Vectorion. Only with this artifact could he legitimize himself as the true First Hetran. Rhodan cannot comply; he had swallowed the Vectorion. The Larens quickly find out and surgically remove the Vectorion from his stomach. It is found that the artifact had covered itself with a kind of mucous membrane. Maybe it wanted to hide in Rhodan's body. It only responds to him, not to Avestry-Pasik, for he does not know how to use it. Thus Rhodan gets back the upper hand and is returned the Vectoron. He is allowed to look around the ship, accompanied by Selthantar, a man from the Laren branch of the Lajuures.

Rhodan explains to Avestry-Pasik that the Vectorion points towards Shyoricc. This domain, located in the central region of Larhatoon, is sealed off from the rest of the galaxy by a Repulsor wall. It is said that the Crystalline Judge is based there. Avestry-Pasik tries to penetrate the wall with the ZHOL-BANNAD, while its two escort ships are left behind. The attempt fails. The Vectorion cannot, as hoped, be used as a "key" to the Shyoricc domain. When the Face ship rematerializes after a failed attempt to fly through, an alarm is given: an Onryone Space Pack consisting of thirty-five ships, led by Guol Chennyr's Space Father SPINYNCA, has appeared and immediately attacks. The two escort ships are destroyed. The ZHOL-BANNAD only escapes annihilation by a trick that Rhodan suggests, which Selthantar implements against Avestry-Pasik's will.

The Face ship makes some blind transitions. The ship was badly damaged and can no longer flee as the Onryones follow. The ZHOL-BANNAD is boarded because Avestry-Pasik recklessly unveiled the ship's face so that Guol Chennyr knows that the head of the Proto-Hetostes is on board. There is only one way to escape. The ship is equipped with a connection station, a transmitter system that serves the Lajuures as an interplanetary and interstellar transport network. By means of transpost designated relays, at which the bodies to be transported do not materialize, but are only "passed through", the Lajuures circumvent the effects of the hyperimpedance increase. Avestry-Pasik, Selthantar and Rhodan pass through the transmitter, which then destroys itself…

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This seemed like a fill in issue to waste some time, but it was still fun. And we learn a little about Selthantar, who will hopefully become more important as the cycle unfolds. Avestry-Pasik just seems more like a petulant child to me than a rebel leader. He doesn't deal well with change, stubbornly hanging onto old ideas that no longer fit the situation. Oh well, we'll see where it goes.
