Endstation Cestervelder
Terminus Cestervelder

By Michelle Stern

The ZHOL-BANNAD is boarded by the Onryones. The surviving Proto-Hestotes are captured and interrogated. The Onryones realize that the leader of the Proto-Hetostes they were looking for was actually on board but fled to the planet Cestervelder in the Lajuures subdomain. One of the prisoners is in fact not a Laren, but the masked Onryone woman Karynar. She takes off her mask, breaks out of her cell and goes to Guol Chennyr, the commander of the Space Father SPINYNCA. Karynar is a radical historian and intensively studied the Atopic Ordo. So she found out about the horrors caused by the Atopic Tribunal and went incognito to the Larens. She tries to convince Guol Chennyr that the Atopic Tribunal has by no means brought salvation to Larhatoon. A germ of doubt has been laid, but Guol Chennyr shoots the woman dead.

Perry Rhodan, Avestry-Pasik and Selthantar pass several Transposts and rematerialize in a station on Cestervelder, a destroyed world with a shattered moon. Exceptionally, it is not the Onryones who are responsible for this, but the Larens themselves. What happened at that time is what Rhodan learns from the station positronics. At this point, his body is fighting poisoning that he suffered from an insect attack. Since the cell activator struggles to neutralize the deadly poison, Rhodan's visions, in which he sees Orana Sestore and Icho Tolot mix with the information from the positronics. After the collapse of the Council of Seven caused by Rhodan, the Larens and Hyptons fought mercilessly. Subsequent generations blame Rhodan, the Hetork Tesser, for each individual death. Rhodan later learns from Avestry-Pasik that the Kelosks prevented greater chaos in Larhatoon and then became the first target of the Atopic Tribunal. Their home Shyor is now the central world of Shyoriccs, serving as a residence for the Crystalline Judge and is under his protection.

Selthantar also has visions. They come over him particularly strongly when he and his two companions fly to a refugee with a glider. He believes he has contact with a winged insect called Ereshigol, who calls him Faevhudio. Only now does he remember that he has been to Cestervelder at some point in the past and experienced something there that he does not want to think about. Suddenly the glider's systems fail and it crashes…
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What a great action issue! So much goes on and we see the first possible crack in the Atopic Tribunal. I'm having a great time with this cycle. Perry has a lot to learn and is in right place to learn it. Now he finally has an idea of why he is so hated here.

2754 The Destroyed World

Nr. 2754

The Destroyed World
Die zerstörte Welt

By Michelle Stern and
Christian Montillon

The crash of the glider was not an accident. Selthantar brought it about because he is "possessed" by the consciousness of the Elshesti Faevhudio. These insectoid beings were the indigenous people of the planet Isnio, which is now called Cestervelder. They were exterminated by the Larens two thousand years ago because they were a danger to the Mastibekks, who wanted to feast on the spirit of the Elshesti but were destroyed along with their pyramids. The reason for this was the life rods - small implants in which the entire content of the consciousness of an Elshesti could be saved, which enabled them to live after death. They had developed this technique when their people were threatened by an epidemic. Such a life rod is in Selthantar's head. He received it when he first visited Cestervelder. He had also crashed with a glider at that time, his companion Farintur dying soon after in a fall into an abyss. Selthantar had been manipulated since then by the undead Elshesti.

All of this gradually becomes clear as Perry Rhodan and Avestry-Pasik follow the Lajuure into a cave system in search of their glider that has slipped into an abyss. Faevhudio's awareness comes to the fore and leads the group to catacombs, in which innumerable mummified Elshesti are stored. They are neither alive nor dead, as many of them wake up and attack. The Elshesti had had contact with a Tesqire some time ago and have since been convinced that the Atopic Tribunal has tamed the evil to which they owe their downfall - this evil is the Larens. Faevhudio made sure that the Onryones had Avestry-Pasik's trail. In fact, Guol Chennyr and his people are already on the move there. They suffered a small setback because the station of connectedness destroyed itself. They then entered the cave system.

Rhodan tries to change Faevhudio's position and once again uses his reputation as Hetork Tesser. Through the ruthlessness of the Onryones, the Elshesti recognize that the Atopic Tribunal cannot be trusted. Faevhudio and a few other Elshesti take Rhodan's side and lead them to a transmitter. But the Onryones follow. Rhodan leaves Avestry-Pasik the Vectorion and pushes him through the transmitter that will be destroyed shortly thereafter. Guol Chennyr captures Rhodan. Selthantar, who regains his identity, remains with the Elshesti. They lead him to Farintur, which was actually saved by the Elshesti.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another action packed issue, where some mysteries get aired and Perry ends up in a worse situation than before. It was loads of fun and I can't wait to see where it leads next.

2755 The Guilt Master

Nr. 2755

The Guilt Master

Der Schuldmeister

By Michael Marcus Thurner

Guol Chennyr is keen to know where Bostich and Avestry-Pasik are. Since Perry Rhodan refuses to provide any information despite various types of ill treatment, he is brought to the planet Kaidhan in the Haoshall system, where Guilt Master Tontosd from the avoid Ollcaden people takes him over. In the next few days, Rhodan will be mentally and physically worn down in Tontosd's estate. The sadistic interrogator drugs Rhodan and secretes hormones that make the Terran’s resistance weaken and cause horrifying hallucinations. In between, Rhodan is allowed to listen to the terrible screams of Scoltermon, another prisoner of Tontosd. One day Rhodan gets visited by a younger version of Baudencerc - who claims to be true Baudencerc. The Greiko that Rhodan had encountered in the Counterfactual Museum is said to have been taken from a void universe, a parallel universe in which the prophecies of the Atopic Tribunal had become a reality. The two Baudencerc variants form a counterfactual dimorph. The younger Baudencerc has been commissioned by the Atopic Tribunal to make the violence addicted Ollcades reasonable supporters of the Atopic Ordo. With some (like Tontosd) he has not yet succeeded. Baudencerc is not allowed to help Rhodan. Nevertheless, he does what he can for the Terran.

Rhodan proves to be particularly unruly and tries to escape. That is why Tontosd uses other means. He presents a sarcophagus with the preserved, still living body of Roi Danton. Rhodan's son was badly battered. Tontosd is preparing to continue the torture before Rhodan's eyes. Rhodan sees through the deception. He had previously heard from Baudencerc that Ollcaden could not stand the sight of dead flesh that came loose from the bone. Danton is suffering exactly this fate now, but Tontosd remains completely unaffected by it. Rhodan acts as if he wants to close a deal with Tontosd: information against Danton's release. The Ollcade responds and frees Danton from the sarcophagus. When Danton incorrectly answers a trick question from Rhodan, he can be absolutely certain that his alleged son is just a kind of marionette. He manages to surprise Tontosd, taking him hostage. Scoltermon intervenes. He is not in fact a victim of torture, but another master of torture. He is the one that created the fake Danton marionette.

Baudencerc intervenes when the two Ollcades bicker over who may torture Rhodan further. He declares Rhodan's interrogation failed. Rhodan is brought back to the SPINYNCA. From now on, an Atope will personally take care for Rhodan. Judge Saeqaer has just arrived with her double- sphere ship CHEMMA DHURGA, which translates to CRADLES OF LOVE...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow! This issue accomplished nothing, but it was certainly an excited case of running in place! I love issues where they play head games with Perry. I always enjoy it when we get to see how Perry's mind operates. Thurner is a very vivid writer and it really sucks me into the story. Even realizing that this story didn't accomplish anything vital did not ruin my enjoyment of it.

2756 The Ship of the Judge

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

Nr. 2756

The Ship of the Judge

Das Schiff der Richterin

Marc A. Herren

A sloop from the CHEMMA DHURGA brings Perry Rhodan to Judge Saeqaer's spaceship. As of now, the Onryones are no longer responsible for him. The sloop is controlled by the Black Bacctou, an artificial creature with a humanoid torso and an angular block instead of legs. Bacctou looks like he was hewn from a single chunk of black marble. He is friendly and tries to imitate Rhodan, but answers most questions cautiously at best. The Judge’s ship consists of two snow-white, crystalline globes. An elliptical circlet encompasses both spherical cells. Rhodan must remain in the two-kilometer Globe Two but may move freely in this hollow-shaped cell. Globe One has a diameter of one kilometer, is the Judge's seat and taboo for Rhodan.

In the following days, Bacctou literally accompanies Rhodan every second of the day and night. He is becoming more and more like the Terran. Rhodan gets to know different races in Globe Two. Among others, the multi-armed Siwives and the humanoid Valvdiger live in Globe Two. Rhodan makes many new friends, and the Valvdiger woman Kharingo even falls in love with him. Spaceship wrecks lying everywhere suggest that all of these beings have been picked up as castaways by Saeqaer at some point. Nobody from the current generation can still remember this time. All castaways regard the CHEMMA DHURGA (the "Cradle of Love") as their home. Rhodan gains respect through his extensive technical knowledge. Therefore, he is allowed to attend a meeting of the speakers of all the homes. To his surprise, Rhodan notices that answers to the three Ultimate Questions are being discussed - however, these questions have a different wording:

What is happening behind the horizon of the LAW?
On which side of the mirror of Creation does the questioner exist?
Who owns time?

Bacctou believes that the Ultimate Questions are part of what holds the cosmos together at its core. He assumes that the local questions are essentially the same as Rhodan's - they have simply assumed a different "state of matter".

With the help of his new friends, Rhodan designs an aircraft with which he explores the hollow world. He does not find an escape option. Then he receives an audience with Saeqaer. The judge is a reptilian and apparently she is pregnant. Like Bacctou, she speaks in riddles. Rhodan tries to provoke her, but only manages to end the audience. In a second conversation, Rhodan learns that the Hereafter Lands are "out of time" and can only be reached with a Judge’s ship. When Saeqaer claims that a Judge’s ship can only be steered by someone who has been beyond the Matter Sources, Rhodan tries not to think of Atlan , because the Atope does not seem to know the Arkonide - or does she know him and has set a cleverly constructed trap into which Atlan (which may be identical to the Third Cardinal Fractor of the Milky Way) should fall ? Rhodan doesn't know what to make of it, but he knows Atlan will have an important role to play in the fight against the Atopic Tribunal.

But first of all, Rhodan would have to escape from the CHEMMA DHURGA. Before Rhodan can start recovering usable parts from the spaceship wrecks, Bacctou's metamorphosis is nearing completion. The artificial being forms legs and becomes a perfect look-alike for Rhodan. Rhodan tries to put Saeqaer under pressure by loading Bacctou into the aircraft with Kharingo's help and pretending to attempt a suicide to destroy Bacctou. Things go wrong. The plane crashes, and Rhodan loses consciousness. He comes to himself in a fictiv transmitter, which is probably in Globe One. Bacctou also survived. Saeqaer announces that she still has big plans for Rhodan. Then the Terran is put to sleep. He dreams of his granddaughter Farye Sepheroa and Vetris-Molaud.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK, we've had Thomas Cardiff impersonating Perry, we've had parallel universe Perry's impersonating him and now we have Black Bacctou transforming into a copy of him. I'm interested in seeing if they can do something original with him, but we'll have to wait for a number of weeks before they get back to this action scene. The issue was alright, but it's questionable how pivotal it will be. At least Atlan seems about to come back onto the stage. I've missed him.

2757 The Problem Child

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

On January 2, 1455 NGE, the Tefroder Caer-Cedvan was born in Thonoriom, a cavern city of the airless planet Gloster in the Helitas system. The boy is deformed because his father Caer-Vetris suffers from Schaspander's disease, a genetic defect. The boy had to undergo many surgeries in the years that followed but was never completely healthy. He became a bookworm; he was particularly impressed by the Lemurians and Perry Rhodan. Caer-Cedvan admired the immortal Terran and emulated him. He regarded Rhodan's fight against the Masters of the Island as treason - an aberration that, in his opinion, was caused by too close a bond with ES.

Like many other residents of Gloster, Caer-Cedvan's family also suffered from the spread of the Jülziish in the Helitas system, which was promoted by the corrupt Tamrat Gavac-Semol. Even the criminal activities of the Yü Cenrik clan were tolerated. Yeyer Gwethry from this clan particularly targeted the valuable Xhan pearls that only occur on Gloster. They consist of howalgonium, which was transformed into unique gems in the stomachs of the insectoid Xhan. When Caer-Cedvan was allowed to participate in a Xhan hunt to celebrate his twelfth birthday, he and his older brother Caer-Jusiv were come across by Yeyer Gwethry and his entourage. Caer-Jusiv was humiliated, but on this occasion Caer-Cedvan Yeyer met Gwethry's body slave Ringület, whom he befriended. The friendship broke up some time later because Caer-Cedvan prevented Ringület from playing a life-threatening game that the young Jülziish hoped to gain his freedom with, but which would have only brought him death. Caer-Cedvan's fun-loving sister Caer-Betoo wanted to cheer up her brother and asked her lovers, the Itidal twins, for help. These expose the young Tefroder to a crystal flash. This was created by hypercrystalline fragments overloading and through the released lightning you experience a spiritual high. But things went wrong: Most of Caer-Cedvan's body surface was burned by it.

Caer-Cedvan survived. Khorcast-Itidal, the father of the twins, initially paid for the expensive treatment, but soon moved to Tefor and stopped paying. In 1472 NGE the Cheborner Special Ship CZONDROSZ GHASZTORAC lands on Gloster. Spälneyer, an Eyleshion, is on board as guest of the commander Klasczarnior Vlaszoryn (KlaV). The man is a bioarchitect. His Mola'uds - biomechanical scorpion-like creatures - can rebuild any living being from scratch and thus heal every ailment. This applies not only to Caer-Cedvan’s burn scars, but also to his genetic defect. Only later does Caer-Cedvan learn that the treatment must be repeated regularly. It is not clear to him whether this is true or whether Spälneyer just wants to make maximum profit from it. The procedure is also extremely painful and the cost is so high that Caer-Vetris is forced to collect Xhan beads in bulk. He gets in the way of Yeyer Gwethry. On the day of Caer-Cedvan's full healing, the Yü Cenrik clan raided his parents' home and killed the whole family. Ringület had previously tried unsuccessfully to warn Caer-Jusiv. Caer-Cedvan was informed by the investigator Oc Shozdor, whose superiors want to cover up the matter on behalf of the Tamrat. Since Oc Shozdor's family also suffered from the Jülziish, he did not want to participate in the cover-up. Instead, he joined Caer-Cedvan, who was now not only physically a completely new Tefroder and founded a resistance movement whose goal was to expel all Jülziish from the Helitas system and the overthrow of the Tamrat. Officially, Caer-Cedvan died with the rest of the family. He took on a new name: Vetris-Molaud.

In the next few years Vetris-Molaud became the head of the underground. In Ashya Thosso, a member of the fleet, he found an important helper (and temporary lover), who enabled him on August 5, 1475 NGE to take the first big blow. Vetris-Molaud was captured and tortured by henchmen of the Yü-Cenrik clan to convince Yeyer Gwethry that masses of Xhan pearls were stored in the CZONDROSZ GHASZTORAC. He did not notice that Ringület recognized him. Vetris-Molaud correctly assessed Yeyer Gwethry's lust for Xhan pearls. The Jülziish personally led a boarding commando team, which carried out a massacre among the Cheboparners. This was filmed by Vetris-Molaud's people and later broadcast publicly. The aim was to incite the population to rebellion. The fact that Vetris-Molaud and his friends intervened but did not help KlaV and the other Cheboparners and killed all the Jülziish, is of course cut out. Vetris-Molaud did not even spare Ringület, who supported him against Yeyer Gwethry.

In the aftermath, the Jülziish ambassador Acyer Cyyth put the Tamrat under pressure. He wants Vetris-Molaud and his companions at all costs.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was pleasantly surprised by this issue. I don't normally enjoy alien slice of life issues, but this one was quite good. It certainly fleshed out Vetris-Molaud's motivations against the Jülziish. I'm glad that the guest writer, Tanja Kinkel, fit in so well. Now we'll see what happens next issue, in the second half of this story, with the other guest writer. I hope the two authors had some contact with each other, so that the styles change is not too jarring.

2758 The Tamaron

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

2758
Der Tamaron
The Tamaron
By Gisbert Haefs

In 1489 NGE, the Tefroders of the Helitas system were still ruled by the Jülziish of the Accayü clans. Tamrat Gavac-Semol is little more than a puppet of the real ruler, the Blues ambassador Acyer Cyyth. Vetris-Molaud is considered dead, but the resistance he founded is still alive. The underground organization of the Vetrides is more active than ever. Tugnal-Orton, the greatest Tefroder researcher in the field of Lemurian and ancient Tefrodian technology (possibly a descendant of the Master of the Island Regnal-Orton), claims to be developing new but well-known technology. He claims to be able to complete a cell activator and a multi-duplicator soon. But that's just a diversion. In truth, Tugnal-Orton is a Vetride, as is secret service officer Oc Shozdor, spaceship commander Ashya Thosso and her bodyguard, pain teleporter Lan Meota. They are all working on the long-term Operation Ragnarök plan, which will soon enter the final phase.

For fifteen years now the Jülziish repeatedly lead punitive actions against the Vetrides, including against Vetris-Molaud’s supposed wandering grave on the planet Gloster. The city of Thonoriom, among other things, was destroyed by the heavy bombing. On September 27, 1489 NGE Ashya Thosso conducts another punitive action from her ship HENCOR FHAN. A cave system hidden deep beneath Thonoriom is uncovered, in which a more than 50,000 year old Lemurian base is located. Thosso's first officer Dehodhat Theytin discovers an extremely unusual monument there. In a circular cavern there are countless dead Lemurs, destroyed robots and wrecks. All of them were preserved by a transparent substance - as were eleven dead Haluters standing around a hill. There the statue of a triumphant Lemurer rises in front of a sculpture that represents an asymmetrical star. Similar, but smaller stars lie between the Haluters. It is later determined that these are combat drones; a mixture of biological, mechanical and hyper-energetic weapon, which the Haluters fell victim to - even the structural transformation of their bodies was ineffective against these Crystal Claws.

Theytin personally reports to Gavac-Semol. Cyyth decides that the examination of the Crystal Claws is the responsibility of the fleet, which causes displeasure among the agents of the Transparent Island. The Crystal Claws are transported to the hollow Achimatiou on Achimat, a moon of the gas giant Laumhu in Helitas system. During the audience in the Tamaghat, Theytin meets one of the three wives of the Tamrat. Her name is Toio Zindher. She begins an affair with the charismatic officer and quickly finds out that he is hiding his true identity. She confesses that she recognized this with a para-ability that she kept secret. He confirms her suspicions. His real name is Vetris-Molaud. The Mola'ud scorpions of Spälneyer not only keep him alive but also change his appearance if he so wishes. Toio Zindher becomes the resister's newest ally.

Theytin is stylized into a hero by the media. He soon enjoyed such a great public reputation that a political career would be conceivable. This is convenient for Cyyth. The ambassador wants a more friendly politician and the disempowerment of the corrupt Jülziish clans. Theytin is to replace the old Tamrat, whose resignation is recorded immediately. Theytin / Vetris-Molaud asks for time to think, because Cyyth's offer opens up completely new possibilities for Operation Ragnarök. All preparations are made quickly. The Exeget malware is infiltrated into the Blues flagship BLYTTRIC, so that it hits the Achimatiou depression on October 4, whereupon the moon breaks apart and is devoured by a hyperspace tear. Then BLYTTRIC fires on the Tamaghat. Large parts of Apsumas are destroyed before the HENCOR FHAN manages to shoot down the Blues ship. Gavac-Semol, Acyer Cyyth and the Tefroder fleet commander, whose position is immediately taken over by Thosso, are among the many millions killed.

Now Vetris-Molaud drops his mask. He turns to his people, who are fully behind him, as a legitimate new Tamrat and drives the Jülziish out of the Helitas system. The assets of the Accayü clans are confiscated. The Jülziish return with reinforcements, but the Sneaker computer virus developed by Tugnal-Orton ensures that the energy screens of the Blues ships fail. After two thirds have been destroyed by the Tefrodic fleet, the rest flee. Vetris-Molaud is celebrated as the savior, liberator and keeper of Lemurian continuity. He has the vision of a new era - a new Tamanium is to be created, maybe even a Milky Way- wide Kar'Tamanon one day.

Even in 1509 NGE, apart from the few confidants of Vetris-Molaud, nobody still knows what really happened twenty years ago and that not all the Crystal Claws were lost with Achimat's demise. Tugnal-Orton has secretly "lost" a few. Vetris-Molaud's power has been consolidated, but he is still dependent on Spälneyer's Mola'ud scorpions. That should change now. On February 15, Toio Zindher introduced him to someone she had recently met. A man in the body of a child and with the powers of an Oxtorner enters Vetris-Molaud's service. His name is Satafar. The first of his many victims will be Spälneyer...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My goodness, that Vetris-Molaud is a bad man, isn't he. Viciously pragmatic and willing to do whatever he needs to get his way. One more part of this historical trilogy to go. It's been alright up till now, but I'm beginning to tire of it. I want to proceed, not backtrack.

Meanwhile, everyone stay safe and stay healthy. It's a scary time, but we have have confidence that we'll get through it.

2759 The Brass Games

Nr. 2759

The Brass Games
Die Messingspiele

By Christian Montillon

The mental dilation helmets, also known as brass helmets, continue to enjoy great popularity, especially among the Arkonides, but members of other races are now also enthusiastically designing virtual environments that are more real for some of their "residents" than the real reality. In January 1517 NGE the first Brass Games take place on Phanwaner, the main world of the Arkonide Phan star barony. The best brass players of the Milky Way gather in the metropolis Pohepadh in the Arena of Star Showers to create a perfect virtual world.

The Guests of honor are Viccor Bughassidow, the main sponsor of the games, and the Tefrodian Maghan Vetris-Molaud. Both are pursuing their own goals with their visit to Phanwaner. Bughassidow hopes the brass dreamers will provide valuable clues in the search for the dark world of Medusa, especially the three Posbi plasma commanders who want to take part in the games. Vetris-Molaud, on the other hand, strives to integrate the star barony into the New Tamanium. Phan would be the first non-Tefrodian state to join the Tamanium, but the decision is far from being made, at least if it depends on Nert-moas Carost da Stencer and Keon'athor Laalou da Gondh, the head of state of the barony and the top commander of the local Crystal Empire forces. Bughassidow is warmly welcomed and makes contact with the Posbis. The plasma commander of BOX-20125 promises that he will act as Bughassidow's advocate to the Hundred Suns World and participate in the search for Medusa itself. Vetris-Molaud, on the other hand, not only has to put up with rejection on the part of the imperial commander - immediately after his arrival on Phanwanian, unknown persons perpetrate an assassination attempt on the Tefrod ruler, which fails, however.

The Tamaron does not intend to reach his goal through diplomatic channels anyway. In addition to the three companions who were granted Vetris-Molaud, Lan Meota and Satafar secretly infiltrate. Canta Oldoron, the only Tefrod brass dreamer and specialist in Balpirol semiconductors, belongs to Vetris-Molaud's entourage. He takes part in the Brass Games that begin on January 3 and dominate all media reports. After a week it is time to strike. Vetris-Molaud kills two birds with one stone. Five robot spaceships of the EPPRIK class are manipulated so that they destroy Vetris-Molaud’s sloop TEFOR, while at the same time Balpirol protein conductors – posbi-viruses - are smuggled into the three BOXES. Satafar, whose self-confidence has been severely compromised since he was defeated by agent Ghenis Tay (she has an artificial hand with which she can shoot poison arrows, among other things), is set to murder the Grand Baron. This proves to be unnecessary, because debris from the robot ship shot down by the VOHRATA causes (not quite according to plan) the heaviest devastation in Pohepadh. The Grand Baron dies, and Satafar is buried. The mutant can free himself, but it is deaf. He runs amok and is eventually killed.

Vetris-Molaud can now act as a rescuer with the ships waiting at the edge of the system. The Onryones also appear. The Phar-Arkonide emissary Niaben da Thoctar, with whom Vetris-Molaud had reached an agreement some time ago, temporarily takes over government affairs and asks for the star barony to be incorporated into the New Tamanium.

The KRUSENSTERN leaves the system in good time before a flight ban imposed by the Onryones takes effect. The plasma commander of the BOX-20125 sets course for a secret Posbi world, the position of which it does not want to reveal to Bughassidow. However, it allows the KRUSENSTERN to follow a beacon impulse using a semi-space detector. The VOHRATA secretly follows both ships…
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep Nanogainger, we are back in the present. :D

What an action piece this was! Vetris-Molaud is literally getting away with murder here. And he's in the process of spreading it to the poor Posbis. While his Mutant Corps is getting decimated, he callously moves on with his scorpion modified agents, reinforcing my opinion of his being a real bastard. I can't wait to see what happens next. And the poor KRUSENSTERN has no idea what it is getting into.

Keep washing those hands everyone. I want you all to stick around. B-)

2760 Posbi Paranoia

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

2760
Posbi-Paranoia
By Leo Lukas

Somewhere in empty space, more than 100,000 light years away from the Milky Way, the KRUSENSTERN has to make an orientation stop because of a hyperstorm, and it also loses the navigation beam from the BOX-20,125. The Fragment ship cannot be located, nor is the VOHRATA whose presence has not escaped the crew of the KRUSENSTERN. ADAM, the plasma commander of the KRUSENSTERN, has an explanation for the disappearance of the BOX. Its goal can only be the secret shipyard planet Everblack. This dark world is surrounded by an energy damping field, into which the BOX has now apparently entered. The coordinates of Everblack are known to ADAM, so that the world can be approached. The Posbis of the Oblast advise caution. The KRUSENSTERN therefore makes contact under the original identifier BOX-3206. A story is constructed about their alleged centuries-long expedition flight. This includes the fiction that the Ara doctor Jatin oversees the plasma commanders and is re-cloned again and again when she dies. This explains the existence of life support systems, which is unusual for a Fragment ship, recreational facilities and the like. The idiosyncratic structures of the outer shell are concealed. Viccor Bughassidow, Marian Yonder, and Peo Tatsanor (who has been doing services for Jatin since his capture) are hidden inside particularly large Posbis. With specially reconstructed individual absorbers, they are made invisible to the Posbis. All other human crew members are placed in hibernation and hidden in the depths of the KRUSENSTERN.

The precautionary measures are more than necessary, because something is wrong with Everblack. It looks like the Posbis suddenly see Terrans as enemies planning their gradual eradication. The BOX-3206 is undergoing an inspection, because there could be nasty Terrans in it. The humanoid Posbi Tetoon takes part in the inspection, a copy of the latest series with its own ÜBSEF constant, which is of the same series as Jawna Togoya. Tetoon is particularly familiar with Terran culture, considers himself a Buddhist and deals with the ancient art of Ikebana - at least that was the case until the BOX-20125 landed on Everblack. Since then, it has been subject to a particularly strong degree of the effect that Bughassidow and his friends soon call "Posbi-Paranoia". It is thanks to Tatsanor's para- ability that the Posbis cannot break through the protection of the individual absorbers. The BOX-3206 is allowed to land, and a delegation consisting of Bughassidow, Yonder and Tatsanor in Posbi camouflage as well as some Oblast-Posbis can look at Everblack. The persecution madness of the Everblack Posbis is getting worse. The Posbi Oblast Vescer-67 says it bluntly: "They are insane, the Everblacks!" In addition, Everblack is obviously switching its production to weapon systems that are particularly effective against living things. Terms such as paratron armor, dazzle shields and cerebral irritators are caught.

Tetoon's mistrust of the BOX-3206 does not diminish. He watches the delegation closely and finally sets a trap in his accommodation, which he equips with numerous gun emplacements. But he did not count on the fighting power of the old Oblast Posbis, whose energy screens are reinforced by Tatsanor. Tetoon is overwhelmed, brought to the KRUSENSTERN and examined. It turns out that its bioplasma and hypertoyctic interlocking are infested with prion-like foreign substances. Although they are artificially created and programmed pathogens, they are a real disease. This Posbi epidemic is transmitted via the plasma supply and disposal systems and leads to increasing paranoia. An antidote could theoretically be made, but not with the KRUSENSTERN on-board means. As a precaution, the KRUSENSTERN Posbis are placed in quarantine, and security measures are also taken for ADAM.

In the meantime, the Everblackers go completely crazy, and Tetoon is particularly hard hit. He only feels hatred for the Terrans now. Bughassidow already has a vague idea who could be responsible for the Posbi paranoia. The assumption is confirmed when the Everblackesr begin to rave about the arrival of a Savior - this is also a symptom of their brain softening. The VOHRATA and other Tefroder ships actually appear by Everblack. The Maghan is well on the way to "turning over" the Terran's oldest and most loyal allies and using them for his own purposes, because it is only a matter of time before Posbi paranoia spreads across the entire robot civilization. Since there are currently no alternatives anyway, the KRUSENSTERN remains by Everblack for the time being to continue watching…
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My goodness. I may be reading this years later, but this issue is certainly timely for me. (Yes, I have slightly twisted sense of humor)

I really enjoyed this issue. The Posbis always give me a bit of the creeps, considering how they can turn on you with the flick of a switch. It's nice to see that Tatsanor is starting to get his head straightened. Hopefully, they'll build his character up further.

The Heirs of Lemuria
Die Erben Lemurias
By Hubert Haensel

All the Lemurian solar transmitters are under the control of the Galacticum. The Akones have been used as switching masters for them. This people, uprooted since the destruction of their home planet Drorah, have since settled mainly on the adjustment worlds of the transmitters. This includes on Suaraan, the control world of the Vengil Trio. The expansion of the settlement was strongly promoted in 1517 NGE, as was the connection of the Vengil Trio to the solar transmitter network. However, no connection to other systems has yet been established.

In mid-February 1517 NGE, the leading transmitter technician Vertron Es-Solmaan explored the 442nd floor of a control pyramid on Suaraan. There he discovers the life-size, all-metal statue of a man, which according to an inscription is probably Zeno Kortin IV. The man is wearing a hat with a fine veil on it. Vertron Es-Solmaan feels watched by the statue's eyes shining in the 5D spectrum. Time seems to be slowing down as he tries in vain to lift the veil. The Akone is intrigued and returns to the statue later. He finds that it absorbs hyper energy. Then a space alarm rings out.

An explosion inside a nearby hyperstorm has been located. A 66-meter Jülziish dinghy approaches the system, does not respond to paging and is gripped by tractor beams, but explodes. Examination of the debris shows that the Blues crew must have died days or weeks ago. Pocor Ragnaar, the Governing Councilor of the adjustment world, has a suspicion that will soon be confirmed. With the support of the Toloceste On the Timeline and the Onryone Guldhyn Yoccorod there is a large Tefrodic fleet in the process of crossing the hyperstorm in order to be able to approach the solar transmitter unnoticed. Lan Meota was on board the Blues dinghy. He teleported himself to Suaraan with the two special agents Ghenis Tay and Bunccer-Buhaam. He felt watched during this process. For the first time in his life, the teleportation took longer than the usual two minutes and nine seconds. The agents prepare the ground for conquering the adjustment world by releasing a hallucinogen in the control pyramid.

Kajane Paxo, the Tefrod expedition leader, personally leads the invasion. The Akones have secured the Central Control Room with a Paratron screen, but Lan Meota eventually finds a gap. Again he notices the presence of a stranger during the teleportation. He does not know that it is the statue. Pocor Ragnaar and Vertron E Solmaan get paralyzed by the agent. Thus, the solar transmitter is conquered for the New Tamanium on February 19th. Vertron Es-Solmaan becomes a collaborator to further examine the statue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I must say that I find this issue a bit of a slow slog to get through. I didn't really care about the characters and can only assume that the solar transmitter will become important later on. And I suppose that the statue will speak to someone in the next issue and we'll get a historical data dump. Maybe that will catch my fancy. Hopefully, it will. :>

2762 The Master Statue

The Master Statue
Die Meister-Statue
by Michael Marcus Thurner
In February 1517 NGE scheduled conference of all galactic peoples called by the topic Tribunal begins on Tefor, to set up the plab for the implementation of the Atopic Ordo in the Milky Way. The New Galacticum has called for a boycott of the event and in fact only representatives of relatively insignificant peoples appear. Vetris-Molaud is also absent; he has more important things to do and travels to the Vengil Trio with a high-performance transmitter, while his flagship VOHRATA shows a presence at the Posbi world Everblack. Suaraan is under Tefrodic control, but despite the efforts of the Toloceste On teh Timeline, they have not yet been able to connect to other solar transmitters. In addition, some Akons harrass the occupiers. Among them is the singer Viiqas la Loan, the beloved of Vertron Es-Solmaan. The incidents they provoke are rather harmless - the aim is only to make it clear to the Tefroders that the resistors could do much worse.

Lan Meota, who arrives with Vetris-Molaud, feels watched during every teleportation. He looks into the matter and finally surprises the Akone Vertron Es-Solmaan as he is examining the statue of Zeno Kortin on the 442nd level below the adjustment pyramid. Something has now changed about the statue. The name plate now shows the following text in Lemurian: "Are you one of the Secret Guardians of Hope and Spiritual Strength?" When Vetris-Molaud learns of the statue's existence, he visits it personally. He knows the name. Zeno Kortin was said to be a Master of the Island. The Maghan touches the statue, communicates with it, and claims that he is the one who will take up Zeno Kortin's legacy. The statue says that he is not the first to claim this. But Vetris-Molaud is serious. When there is another confrontation with the Akons, with Viiqas in the front row, the Maghan speaks plainly. In his opinion, the Tefroders should see themselves as Lemurs in the future and the new Tamanium should become the home of the Akons. Vetris-Molaud promises that he will do everything possible to free Drorah from the Chaotender VULTAPHER. The Akones are very impressed!

But there is an unknown force at work on Suaraan, which is now becoming noticeable. On the Timeline noticed the presence of the stranger some time ago. Lan Meota discovers a ghostly humanoid figure with the help of the Tolocests. The being proves to be unassailable, because it consists of nanoparticles that can always reshape. The Tefroders do not know that they are dealing with Toufec's Nano-Djinn Pazuzu. After Vetris-Molaud's speech, it is found that the main computer VENGIL has been manipulated and cannot be switched off. The stranger activates the sun transmitter and makes contact with the Ecloos Trio. Commandant Kajane Paxo is ordered to intercept any ship that should be approaching the transmitter. The THOERIS promptly appears, heading for the transmitter. Shanda Sarmotte answers a call to the ship. She speaks of a goal that she must achieve as soon as possible and that she is ready to pay for the transmitter passage with important information about Matan Addaru Dannoer. Kajane Paxo plays along and lets the THOERIS pass, staging a deception for the sake of the Onryone Guldhyn Yoccorod. The commander can only hope that Shanda's information is worth it, because Vetris-Molaud is not at all pleased about the escape of the THOERIS ...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At least the action percentage picked up here and kept the story moving. But I'm tired of none of the main players begin on scene. Here's hoping they show up soon.

2763 Moonlight over Naat

Moonlight over Naat
Mondlicht über Naat
By Verena Themsen

The Atopic Tribunal has promised that the former Arkonide main solar system should belong to the Naats, but that was apparently just lip service. The centers of power are no longer occupied by Arkonides, but by the Atopic henchmen - the Naats have thus only exchanged one occupier for another. On February 29, 1517 NGE Luna appears in the Baag system and becomes a new moon for the planet Naat. Since then, the Arkon III war world has become more and more techno-mesh covered and permeated. Tormanac da Hozarius does not indicate whether he is still interested in taking action against the rule of the Tribunal. Instead, he spends more and more time in the brass world, where he can forget the fragility of his body.

Sholtan Perlvin, an ex-agent of the New USO disguised as a journalist, is one of the Arkonides who have not yet emigrated. He develops a plan to murder Atope Chuv but acts on his own. He uses old connections to the Arkonide fleet and to the Tu-Ra-Cel as well as the material left on Naat by the USO. Perlvin visits the Terran Yaren Yildiz, who is raising the orphaned Naat Galgkar. He was expelled from his clan because he is a "pale skin" and therefore considered inferior. Perlvin uses his own disfigurement (his body and skull are horribly deformed) to gain the trust of the albino Naat. Galgkar dreams of participating in the Muathamen, a holy battle ritual that even the Vice-Imperator is supposed to attend as a spectator. But he is denied that, because no Naat will fight a "disabled" person. Perlvin claims this is an injustice to the Ordic Stele. He arranges for Chuv to agree to participate in the Muathamen and to challenge Galgkar. Perlvin believes that this is the only way to resolve the dilemma without sacrificing honor to the Naats.

Galgkar is being used to get close enough to Chuv to detonate a bomb hidden in his body. But during the training together, Perlvin makes friends with Galgkar and develops feelings for Yildiz. He also feels guilty about the countless fatalities to be expected from the bombing. So at the last moment, he frustrates his own plan. Chuv is then attacked by Perlvin's comrades, but they don't accomplish anything. When Yildiz learns that she and Galgkar were only being used, Perlvin is threatened with losing them. Nevertheless, a minor success was achieved. During the fight, Galgkar scratched the Atope, a little cell material was left under his fingernails. The investigation of this finds that Chuv's DNA is completely alien. It consists of a collection of complete gene sets from different races - including the Naats.

Atope Chuv turns to the Naats by Trivid. He announces that the work of the Tolocestes on Gor'Ranton has been completed. Together with Luna, the war world is to create a unique protection for the Baag system: a fusion of the Repulsor wall with the Crystal screen. Thantur-Lok should become an independent domain and the Baag system is to become the beating heart of a galactic community of peace.

This was a fun enough issue. Even if it wasn't an official USO story, it had all the elements I enjoy. Verena Themsen did a good job here. However, there was no real importance to the issue. We've entered that part of a cycle where they are holding place until the final push. At least next issue we go back to Bully and Gucky.

There are still many things to happen before the actual "final push" of the cycle is coming. The origin of Chuv will be resolved in time.

One remark to your translations. You do a good job in the translating the series-specific terms but sometimes the translations fall a bit short. One example is the "Jenzeitige Lande" (PR 2738) which you translated as "Hereafter Lands". Now the "hereafter" is a translation of the german Word "Jenseits" (with an "s", meaning actually "yonder side"). The word "jenzeitig" (with a "z") is a creative neologism by the PR authors (enter jenzeitig into Google search and have a look at the suggested completions).

I would find it more appropriate if you would use also a neologism in English to translate the "Jenzeitige Lande", e.g. "yondafter lands". But as a native English speaker you may come up with a more creative term.

Hi Nanogranger,
I don't know German myself, so it is hard to translate the artificial terms the authors come up with. :P I have a native speaker friend who is into the series, so I'll check with him on what mentally translates it as. He's also way ahead of me in the series, so he'll know the background for it.

Stay safe and stay healthy,

2764 Rendezvous in Larhatoon

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

No. 2764

Rendezvous in Larhatoon

Christian Montillon

February 1517 NGE: The RAS TSCHUBAI reached the galaxy Larhatoon unnoticed and gained initial knowledge about the conditions there. Gucky dreams of a Yllit lady and believes to hear a call. The mousebeaver gets put to sleep by the deputy chief medic Essien Zahng and monitored by ANANSI. After that, there can be no doubt that a transmitter in Larhatoon broadcasts a radio message with a psionic component, which has the letters "SOS PR" embossed in the Morse code. The message can only be from Perry Rhodan. Gucky, who is now able to control his new para-skills well enough, uses Toio Zindher's powers to find the source of the signal: the planet Vi in the Pethpar system. Gucky, Icho Tolot, Avan Tacrol, the Venus team and TARA master Bannatyne Campbell, who has a TARA-X-T as part of his gear, land near the capital Thej Bego with the best camouflaged space jet, the LAURIN II. Toio Zindher is with them at her own request. Benner monitors who controls her weaponless SERUN monitors her.

Rhodan's message is also picked up by the Onryones. Tullcor Stoynneri is on his way to Vi with his Space Father CUZPUYR and seven other ships to continue the work of the OUKEVOY. The blessings of the Atopian Ordo are to be brought to the Vidrites. Commander Stoynneri is certain that a secret is hidden in the Pethpar system, and the Morse code, which he does not understand, confirms this view. With his deputy Xonira Warnarollu, he visits Chanpaja, the Vhemej of the Vidrites. He is found to be ignorant. His companion Quirra wears a strange chain, which she calls a " Neacue ". The Onryones bug Chanpaja's rooms and kidnap a Vidrite to question him. However, the man dies of fear. The bugs are more useful. They catch a conversation between Vhemej and strangers. The names Perry Rhodan and Bostich are mentioned. There is talk of seriously injured Lucbarnis being treated in the Or-Oshlan Clinic. The strangers drop their masks, revealing Gucky and the Venus team.

Gucky had telepathically heard Neacue and found the way to Chanpaja in this manner. He receives the coordinates of the LUCVAIT from Neacue. Bostich is still in the flame gondola. Benner discovers and destroys the bugs. The Onryones are already on their way to the clinic with a large number of soldiers and robots. Gucky, the Venus team and the unstoppable Haluters still get there first. They bring the Lucbarni to safety while the TARA-X-T cleans up outside. Neacue takes care of Stoynneri and Warnarollu in his own way; the two now think they have routed a team of Proto-Hestotes. The LUCVAIT is the next goal of the RAS TSCHUBAI. Reginald Bull, however, makes it clear that there is no place on the Terran ship for Bostich. He is only interested in clues to Rhodan's whereabouts. Bull intends to leave the Arkonide with the Lucbarni.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank goodness we're back to some of the main gang this issue. Hijinks ensue and we get a step closer to Bull and Gucky's reunion with Perry. I especially enjoyed Bull's reaction to finding out about Bostich. It was fully in character with hi, although we know the decision can't stand. I'm sorry Neacue stayed behind on Vi. At this point there is no reason to go back,so I guess this is the last we'll see of him.Time will tell.

2765 The Genetic Work of Art

The Genetic Work of Art
Das genetische Kunstwerk
By Christian Montillon

In order not to reveal their full strength, Reginald Bell and Pucky fly with the MARS-battlecruiser RALPH SIKERON to the flame gondola LUCVAIT. The injured Lucbarnis are handed over to their fellows. The Terrans are warmly welcomed. Bostich's joy at the arrival of the supposed rescuers is severely dampened when Bull makes it clear that he will not take the Arkonide with him. Bostich reveals a surprising piece of information: Perry Rhodan has returned via transmitter to the LUCVAIT! However, he suffered severe hyper-energy burns during the unshielded transmitter passage. With the help of his cell activator, Rhodan recovers quickly. It is not easy for him to recognize Reginald Bull as the expedition leader. He even suspects that Bull didn't come back from the Everywhere City, but a Jaj. Bull, on the other hand, is not sure whether the reservations he has against his old friend are not due to the polarity reversal of his cell activator, which he still remains silent about.

Rhodan tells of his successful escape with the help of the Siwives and what he has experienced in the CHEMMA DHURGA. While Bull would rather be active in Larhatoon and sabotage the Onryonic supply routes to the Milky Way, Rhodan is convinced that they have to attack the Atopes in the Hereafter Lands. For this purpose, a Judge’s ship must be captured and a pilot found who has already been behind the Matter Sources - and the only one they know is Atlan, who is supposed to be with ES on Wanderer.

Icho Tolot expresses the desire to look on Volterhagen for the Yazad, those beings that were bred from the body of his dead child, and to recover these remains. The heavy cruiser FANCAN TEIK II is made available to him for this purpose. Tolot takes Bostich with him because his new arm comes from the same genetic material as the Yazad. The arm is found to still be undergoing a transformation process. Micro-brains have developed at the transition point to the body, whose mental voices Bostich’s extra sense believes to perceive. At Volterhagen it turns out that Than-Deneec was captured by the Onryones and is being experimented on. A rescue operation is prepared immediately by the Haluters, and Rhodan, Bostich and Pucky participate. While Avan Tacrol causes distractions in his somewhat impetuous way, the others enter an Onryonic research facility where several clones of the Laren woman have already started being bred. Halutian genetics were used again. The sight makes Tolot furious. He destroys the entire laboratory and all the clones. Than-Deneec is taken back to the cruiser.

Back in FANCAN TEIK II, Bull speaks to his friends in Rhodan's absence. Tolot mentioned an episode from 2436 during the operation that occurred in the Dusty Queen system. But there was talk of the "Rusty Queen system," and Rhodan accepted it that way. Farye Sepheroa adds that Rhodan has been constantly uneasy and insecure about her since he returned. Bull admits that he is having Rhodan watched. They are wondering who this man really is…
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was a face paced issue that I really enjoyed, even though not too much happened Still, it put a number of things in place to move us along. The Onryones now know that some Galactics are on the loose in Larhatoon and the crew has realized they do not have the real Perry among them, although they do not know what he really is or what he's there for. I can't wait to get into the next issue. :)

2766 One Rhodan Too Many

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

2766
One Rhodan Too Many
Ein Rhodan zu viel
By Hubert Haensel

The relationship between Reginald Bull and Perry Rhodan continues to deteriorate. Bull has no solid evidence that a false Rhodan has come aboard the RAS TSCHUBAI, but the chemistry between the old friends is just not right anymore. The calculations with ANANSI’s Coco computer confirm Bull’s suspicion, but an equally high probability is calculated that something is wrong with Bull. Rhodan, on the other hand, cannot stand the days of forced inactivity. Nobody from the ship's command wants to talk to him, and he has no tasks in the ship. Rhodan believes that Bull is being subjected to an unknown harmful influence. The distrust of the two men gradually rubs off on their surroundings.

Rhodan is given permission to attend a meeting. The Laren woman Than-Deneec is doing reasonably well and reports on the Larian genetic research. For the first time she meets the Haluter Icho Tolot, whose inheritance she carries, as does Bostich, who Tolot continues to grant asylum in the FANCAN TEIK II. Bull fears that Tolot could develop a kind of "mother complex" with the two of them. Rhodan looks around the RAS TSCHUBAI but feels he is being observed. Finally, he goes to vital telepath Toio Zindher and asks her to check Bull's cell activator. The Tefroder is enjoying herself, because Farye Sepheroa asked her just before to do the same with Rhodan's cell activator. Toio Zindher can find no abnormalities in the life-giving devices, but she gets the impression that they repel each other. It feels like the two cell activators can't stand each other

Farye Sepheroa talks about this with the two Haluters, Pucky, Jawna Togoya and ANANSI. To rule out any conceivable danger for the RAS TSCHUBAI, it has to be determined what is really going on with Bull and Rhodan. Bull is questioned and must finally admit the fact that his cell activator was reversed in the Everywhere City. Then Rhodan is questioned. Gucky is supposed to clarify the matter with his new skills. The mousebeaver explores the men's mental world and confirms that both are real. Only when Rhodan left did Gucky qualify his testimony somewhat: Rhodan is convinced of his own authenticity, but he is a doppelganger. Some of the man's memories look as if he had learned them, and there is also a strange nucleus deep in his mind. The fake Rhodan is left believing that he is finally trusted. Bull includes him in the alleged further planning. The CHEMMA DHURGA is to be conquered. For this purpose, Rhodan should report to Saeqaer and claim that he wanted to surrender and was ready to remain in exile in Larhatoon for the next five hundred years. As soon as the CHEMMA DHURGA activates a transmitter to get Rhodan, space landing units are to be sent over to the Judge’s ship and conquer it.

The Judge's ship and 200 Onryonic units are in the Haos-Sun system near Kaidhan. The RAS TSCHUBAI arrives there on February 26, 1517 NGE. The contact is established and Saeqaer shows willingness to cooperate. As soon as Rhodan makes his offer, Bull strikes. TARA-IX-INSIDE robots arrest Rhodan, while at the same time the Aagenfelt flash is triggered. This experimental weapon causes the protective shield of the CHEMMA DHURGA to collapse. Immediately a Paros-screen shield camouflaged space jet of the LAURIN squadron christened the OLF STAGGE, with Pucky, Tolot and a TARA-XT on board, speed towards the Judge’s ship. In front of it, the unmanned heavy cruiser RT-SK 20 rushes like a projectile right into the outer shell of the larger spherical sphere of the Judge’s ship, and is destroyed by this. The OLF STAGGE penetrates the CHEMMA DHURGA through the leak that is already beginning to close again. Mission: Liberation of the real Perry Rhodan!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This issue was a hoot! Action, duplicity and turnarounds galore! It's good that the Rhodan doppelganger wasn't strung out for long and things are getting moving.

2767 The Angels of the Bevel

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

2767
The Angels of the Bevel
Die Engel der Schmiege
By Caroline Brandt

Pend from the capsule system of Fho is a multiversal being. Or rather: He is the embodiment of all versions of this being from all universes. He wanders through space and time, hovers in a stochastic storm, sees everything, knows everything, plays with elementary particles and is interested in Perry Rhodan. Since his shipwreck and the rescue by Saeqaer, Pend 70 has been living more or less voluntarily in the CHEMMA DHURGA because he owes the Judge for the disaster. He pays visits to Rhodan, who is imprisoned in a small room inside Globe One, several times without being noticed. Once he actually shows himself. Rhodan perceives an approximately two meter tall, muscular, scaled creature with twelve weak arms, a tail and very large eyes, who is wearing armor and an emitter. There is no communication. On the other hand, Rhodan speaks to Saeqaer several times. She tells him that someone has entered Globe Two, possibly a commando rescue team. The Atope is assured that nothing and no one could cross the bevel interface to cross into Globe One. She shows the Terran why she is so convinced of it. In the bevel are trapped Karduuhls. Saeqaer calls them Veszi (the precious). They serve as the guardians of the Bevel and are given the task of searching mentally for the intruders.

The rescue team, consisting of Pucky, Sichu Dorksteiger, Icho Tolot and Avan Tacrol, finds the crash site of Rhodan's homemade plane. They come to the conclusion that Rhodan is still alive but must be in the other spherical cell. Pucky reads the mental images of the beings repairing the hull break. They are care givers from the Gmoda people, non-humanoid beings with four pillar legs, on which a kind of turtle shell lies. The Galactics speak to one of them named Mrego. The Gmodas like to sing at work and let their visitors serenade them as a test to join them. They find Icho’s singing skills only »interesting«, but they very much like Sichu's duet with Avan Tacrol. Mrego happens to be aware of the existence of the Bevel. He once participated in an attack by the freedom-loving Baduthecs on this structure, which the Karduuhls effortlessly fended off. Mrego leads the Galactics to a place where one can encounter the Omniscient Pend, who can supposedly help them.

It doesn't take long for Pend to appear. For Pucky, his presence is as fascinating as it is painful. Pucky learns that Pend thinks the standard universe is very strange. He describes it as "complex dimensional plus one". The mousebeaver succeeds in convincing Pend that Rhodan's liberation would be a good way to pay the debt of revenge. Pend uses his access to the Polyrealities to repeat the attack of the Baduthecs on the Karduuhls and vary it. While both sides are decimating each other, Rhodan is taken out of the cell. Pend puts him and the rescue team back in time through a side branch of a retrochronic parallel universe, so that they are the OLF STAGGE before it was destroyed and can flee to the RAS TSCHUBAI through the transmitter in it. Rhodan and Reginald Bull exchange their findings there. A foray into the Shyoricc domain is planned. Quick Silver offers the Terrans to travel with Bull to the City of All Places via a location he knows in Larhatoon and to search for Atlan. In return, the Terrans are supposed to officially assign the White Room to him. After this meeting, Rhodan visits his lookalike. He has to have an important conversation with him.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was a turning point for the cycle. Perry finally gets reunited with the other immortals and that is good news. The stuff with Pend was just plain weird and didn't do much for me. I much more enjoyed Perry's verbal sparring with the Atope, where he got to use his brains. Now we'll see what use he makes of this, if he does. :>

The Unlucky Planet
Der Unglücksplanet
By Oliver Fröhlich

The Black Bacctou is still convinced of being the real Rhodan after his first encounter with Perry Rhodan. Both undergo an in-depth investigation. Result: The two Rhodans and their cell activators are absolutely identical. Rhodan suspects that Bacctou could even have copied the Knight's aura if it still existed. Bacctou could possibly do the same with the characteristic that distinguishes a Judge’s pilot. Nevertheless, the search for Atlan is launched. Reginald Bull and Toio Zindher are to go to the City of All Places in the accompaniment of Quick Silver. Quick Silver has a Brevizone excerpt, a kind of city map that has to be analyzed by ANANSI first because it has no absolute coordinates in it. The RAS TSCHUBAI on-board computer determines that there is access to the City of All Places in Larhatoon (two more are in the neighboring galaxy Lajaspyanda ), namely in a solar system, the planets of which have a cosmically unlucky race. Four of the originally nine planets of the red sun Loy Lo only exist as an asteroid belt, while two more were badly affected by meteorite impacts. The Breviatur has had no active contact with Pha Gashapar for centuries, is located on the originally third planet, an Earth-like world on which life is still possible. The location of the access point is unknown, so it must be mobile.

Bull and his friends set off on the heavy cruiser EDMOND PONTONAC. Upon their arrival on March 3, 1517 NGE, the Terrans find that the planet is inhabited by humanoid beings, the Sigolatians, and is called the Sigolat World. Only about two thousand five hundred Sigolaters that are distributed among twelve settlements live a miserable existence in the remains of their former highly developed culture. They must defend themselves against constant attacks by the Khazzyrs. These aggressive, airworthy and telepathically gifted giant spiders came to Sigolat World a long time ago with an asteroid impact. Their preferred weapon is fire-breathing - flammable slime, which is stored in the so-called war stomach. The Khazzyrs are threatening the global ecosphere through their explosive propagation. In fact, Sigolat World is on the verge of extinction. Bull decides to intervene when Gucky reports on the desperate struggle of the residents of the ruins of Ponten-South against a Khazzyr superiority, which he follows telepathically. Goman Gonen Goer and Lalo Laay Ladhar, the only survivors of their combat squad, are saved and taken to the EDMOND PONTONAC. Two giant spiders are also recovered and housed in a hangar, where they are guarded by Icho Tolot and Avan Tacrol. As hoped, the Sigolaters agree to help the Terrans find the Breviatur. However, Goer demands help for his entire people.

Seventy Khazzyrs are flying towards the EDMOND PONTONAC. The two giant spiders in the hangar free themselves but are defeated by the Haluters. The cruiser is in distress because the oldest Khazzyr (a so-called blind traveler) can deal telekinetic strikes and build a parastructural neutralization field in whose sphere of action all technological devices fail. After the attack was narrowly repelled, Goer reports of an old tomb on the raft town of Cholten-Cerr, guarded by an ancient Sigolater named Khufer Khos Khogis. That sounds like the access point to the City of All Places. While Bull, Quick Silver and Toio Zindher go to the holy mausoleum, Gucky and the Halutians evacuate all the Sigolaters with Goer's help. Quick Silver recognizes that the grave guard is wearing an Identor. In fact, the alleged Sigolater is a Fender Chast - a creature that looks like a cross between a turtle and an armadillo. His name is Khuferchosdd and he is a representative of the Knowledge Acquisition and Knowledge Management Protocol. He initially refuses to grant access, because Sigolat World is in quarantine. However, when huge groups of Khazzyrs attack and begin to destroy the entire raft city, Khuferchosdd has to open the Breviatur to save his own life. Bull and his companions follow him to Pha Gashapar. The EDMOND PONTONAC should wait in case they return to Sigolat World.

The EDMOND PONTONAC is attacked again by Khazzyrs. This time the Forefather Khazzyr takes part in it, a formidable creature with particularly strong para-forces. The cruiser's offensive and defensive armament is blocked, as are most of its engines. Since the Forefather is shielded by numerous blind travelers, the Haluters cannot get to him. The Forefather is attacked by the Sigolater Dho Dovo Doninc, the Civil Major from Ponten-South. He had been against the evacuation and stayed behind at the grave of his son who had died fighting the Khazzyrs in the past. In a suicide attack, he lunges at the Forefather and pierces his war stomach with a spear. The fire spit ignites. There is an explosion that tears apart the Forefather and countless Khazzyrs. The evacuation can now be completed. The Sigolaters are resettled by the RAS TSCHUBAI in a suitable world. A few dozen Posbis remain with them to help them build a new civilization.

The RAS TSCHUBAI then flies to the Repulsor Wall of the Shyoricc domain and prepares an attempt to penetrate it...

ThIs was an exciting enough issue to keep my interest up, but I can't say much of import occurred. We've entered the portion of the cycle where they begin to set up the Garrabo pieces for the final push. :-)) Oliver Fröhlich knows his way around action adventures, that's for certain.

2769 the Dragon Blood Command

The Dragon Blood Command
Das Drachenblut-Kommando
By Rainer Castor

The Tesqire Toqoyd and his spaceship LIKE A MIRROR IN THE LIGHT, THE MIND SHINES IN THE RIGHT are in the orbit of the planet Ekhas. Its presence is troublesome for the Ekhonides associated with the LFT, but it is just as acutely threatening as the deployment of an Onryone cluster consisting of several hundred ships only two light years away. For this reason, all the crisis meetings of the ruling Council of Twelve remained a waste of time. This changes when Toqoyd cheerfully announces on March 14, 1517 NGE that an Ordic stele will soon be erected on Ekhas. Koll-theym, the Aar-tua-Athor (head of government) of the Ekhonides, has finally had enough of the Tesqire’s words. His people stand behind him when he decides that the Ekhonides must do everything they can to prevent the stele from being installed - a symbol of oppression and not, as Toqoyd says, of liberation. However, this cannot be done without outside help. With the approval of the LFT Resident and the chairman of the New Galacticum, Koll-theym therefore turns to Monkey.

The Ekhonide call for help reaches the Lord Admiral of New USO, which the Atopic Tribunal banned as a terrorist organization, at just the right time, because Project Dragon Blood is virtually complete. USO scientists have thoroughly studied the Monkey-captured linear space torpedo at Quinto-Center. The aim of the project, named after a chapter from the Nibelung legend, is to develop effective countermeasures against this weapon. The knowledge has been gained that the torpedoes have a relatively short range and the mass use of anti-drones can help intercept them. The most important new development by the USO scientists, however, is the Libration-Zone Illusion Projector (LIP), which can project eleven false targets for the torpedoes. The YART FULGEN, a modified modular LFT-BOX of the QUASAR class and equipped with an improved hyper-tact engine is the new flagship of the USO. Five of its detachable VALET combat blocks are also equipped with several LIPs. Monkey wants to lead the ship personally on its first mission. The destruction of the stele destined for Ekhas is to be a trial by fire for the YART FULGEN and the LIPs.

In the meantime, the Space Father WEEONER under the command of Notoi Kevcenner with the stele on board and ninety-nine other Onryonic units are already approaching their destination. Koll-theym is told to gain the USO some time. He invites Toqoyd on a state visit and receives permission to talk to Kevcenner by hypercom. The Ekhonide holds his conversation partner on the line long enough with arguments against the installation of the stele on Ekhas, so that the location of the convoy can be determined. This information is immediately passed on to Monkey. The YART FULGEN and one hundred Fragment ships of the Posbis attack on March 18, but LIPs have no effect. All the linear space torpedoes head straight for the real targets in linear flight. These immediately flee into normal space. Only three VALET modules from the YART FULGEN are lost.

Analysis of the incident shows that the LIPs were sabotaged. Monkey had previously identified suspicious behavior in Orninc Lycett, a Dragon Blood scientist. A trap is set for Lycett, which the Terran promptly steps into. It quickly becomes clear that Lycett was suggestively influenced by the Mooffs, who also belong to the project team. These nonhumanoid beings believe that the Atopic Tribunal can avert the danger posed by the small states that are emerging in the Milky Way and create lasting peace. Therefore, they sabotaged the Dragon Blood project.

After the Mooffs are imprisoned behind high-powered screens and thus made harmless, the second attack takes place on March 20. This has overwhelming success. All one hundred Onryone ships are destroyed, and with them the stele. The Galactics lose only one more VALET. Nevertheless, the entire crew of the YART FULGEN suddenly feels terrible shame and remorse…
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was disappointed with this issue. It was half technical specifications, a quarter history lesson and only a quarter storyline. Mind you, that quarter of storyline was a lot of fun, as USO stories usually are, but I couldn't care less about the rest of it. It's good that the Galactics finally have something to use against the torpedoes and I'm wondering what it was about the destruction of the stele that set off the sudden mood downer. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

The Para-Paladins
Die Para-Paladine
By Christian Montillon

Vetris-Molaud returns to Tefor on March 22, 1517 NGE to attend the Grand Ordo Conference of the Atopic Tribunal, which has been going on for four weeks, and to visit his again pregnant wife Amyon Kial. After losing her first child, she increasingly withdrew from the public and developed a kind of paranoia. For this reason, the second child is in an artificial uterus. Reluctantly, she agrees to go to the conference with her husband.

That Amyon Kial's mistrust is justified becomes apparent shortly after VOHRATA's landing. Niaben da Thoctar, the new ruler of the star barony Phan, comes to meet the Maghan with her flagship GOTHOR DA PHAN. Four rebels, who are against the connection of the barony to the New Tamanium, occupy a gun post on the Phan-Arkonide ship and open fire on the Baroness who has already disembarked. The assassination attempt fails, however, and the rebels commit suicide. The same day, Niaben da Thoctar signs the entry treaty.

Dhayqe chairs the Ordo Conference and already has concrete plans for dividing the Milky Way into domains and subdomains but is not making any progress because the assembly is boycotted by the bigger Milky Way races. The Onryones are said to want to start their own domain, called the Old Starlands, in the Milky Way Southside. The Onryones from Larhatoon are also said to be soon moving there. On the sidelines of the conference, Vetris-Molaud meets Roton Horcay, the Asporcos emissary. This race is said to be set to be integrated into the domain of the Arkonides but would rather join the New Tamanium. Vetris-Molaud supports this desire.

Vetris-Molaud sends Lan Meota to the School of Mercy, Apashem's mutant academy, which he even keeps secret from the Atopic Tribunal. The Academy's three mushroom shaped towers are located on an island in the underground city of Bylunet on Tefor and are disguised as an " Institute for the Exchange of Intellectual Property" (IEIP). Under the direction of Shanu Starcuuts, who herself has a para ability - she is a gradient and can recognize para-gifts - five new contenders for the Tefrodic Mutant Corps are being trained there: the short- distance teleporter Bellows Orgudd, the weak Telekinet Yaalon Tua, the dream inducer Ejery Vyndor, the positronic reader Dienbacer and Assan-Assoul, the star pupil of the academy. Nobody, not even himself, knows exactly what powers Assan-Assoul really has. The only thing that is clear is that he can temporarily acquire para-gifts from another person if he is close to the person concerned. The person is temporarily weakened as a result. Lan Meota is demonstrated the powers of the students and explains to them how important they are since the Four Conquerors practically no longer existed. They are said to be Para-Paladins (Amyon Kial's name for them) and Vetris-Molaud's vision of a new Tefrodian empire.

The TLS agents Guy Granduciel and Ossos-B4 are active incognito on Tefor. Granduciel acts as a star chef who spoils the conference participants with exquisite dishes. The Barniter Ossos-B4 plays his manager. With the support of Meires-Pharrem, a secret agent of the still independent Tefroder state Vritham, they uncover the secret of the IEIP. Granduciel meets "accidentally" with Yaalon Tua, manipulates his Multicom and sends along a spy probe disguised as an insect. When Ossos-B4 finds the real Yaalon Tua unconscious in his apartment at the same time, it becomes clear that a Jaj has taken on the role of the mutant. He is already on his way to the academy. The TLS agents give the Transparent Island an anonymous tip, but Shanu Starcuut realizes that something is wrong with Yaalon Tua first. The real telekinet sometimes has "deaf days" on which he cannot use his gift, but the Jaj has no psi potential. The unmasked shapeshifter is attacked by battle robots. He protects himself with tt-progenitors and tries to flee. Assan-Assoul uses the powers of his classmates to persecute and face him. His unknown abilities allow Assan-Assoul to literally melt the Jaj. It could even reveal the true shape of the Jaj.

On March 27, Vetris-Molaud demands the Tesqire discuss the incident. In the interest of the common cause, the Maghan finally lets the matter go, but makes it clear that the mutant school is taboo for the Atopic Tribunal. He then sends Lan Meota and the five new mutants with the LAHMU to the Torbu system. Vetris-Molaud claims that another statue of Zeno Kortin must be in the ruins of the planet Torbutan. Vetris-Molaud must own all the statues so that they can reveal their secret.

Thanks to the drone, Granduciel and Ossos-B4 are aware of the Assan-Assoul fight against the Jaj. Their boss Attilar Leccore appears in person on Tefor to praise them for this success. He thinks Assan-Assoul is so important that they have to do more than just keep an eye on him...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not a bad issue. Another undercover mission for Terran forces brings out information on their enemies and a few laughs. No doubt, this new group of mutants will provide a challenge for Gucky at some point. And Lan Meota will discover his old teammate is still alive. Assuming she makes it back to the Milky Way alive.

2771 Pilgrims of Peace

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

2771
Pilgrims of Peace
Pilger der Gerechtigkeit
By Wim Vandemaan

The LFT is planning a brazen and risky strike against the Atopic Tribunal: the theft of an Ordic stele. Monuments of this kind have been erected on many planets, which speak law in the name of the Atopic Judges, but only on Allema is it not guarded by a fort. Boyton Holtorrec, the responsible Onryonian commander on site, believes he can adequately protect the stele with his Space Pack. Attilar Leccore sees it differently and leads the operation personally, heading there with the WARTHOG, an ancient cylinder spaceship of the space Nomads. At the same time the DRUM arrives, a spaceship of the Grossarts, which is nothing more than a large transmitter. The Ganschkares Booardh and Voedorc are also on board. The two scientists have renounced TRAITOR, been amnestied by the Solar Premier and have a stele replica with them. The stele should be exchanged for this copy. The Posbi BOX-57333 is already on Allema and should also play an important role in the theft. Some Swoons are active underground and work on the base on which the stele stands. When they arrive, the WARTHOG is carefully examined by the Onryones, but they find nothing and are bemused at the eccentricities of the space Nomads. Everything is going according to plan. Leccore talks to his contact and looks around Allema in various shapes.

The Ordic Stele stands on the Port Ho-Nan spaceport and has not been visited by anyone until April 1517 NGE. The first plaintiff is said to be the Tefroder envoy Keshkord Vaylender, who traveled to Allema with his MHAGRO to promote the integration of the entire solar system into the new Tamanium. Vaylender makes the argument at the stele that Allema was long ago a Lemurian naval base called Manores and is therefore legally owned by the Tefroders. The stele judges this differently, because the Terrans too are descendants of the Lemurians. Only half of the spaceships found by the first settlers on Allema at the time will belong to the Tefroders, if no one else claims them. The spectators enjoy themselves, and even the roaring laughter of a Haluter can be heard. Vaylender carries this with composure and presents his offer in a conversation with Allemat Yonuk Tanacross, who thinks about it. Election Master Bonnie Gontersbloom, the commander of the WARTHOG, also goes to the stele. She is suing due to an Onryone assault on a Nomad convoy and receives 190 million Galax as compensation. Leccore takes on the shape of a Grossart and accompanies Gerzschko-2, the commander of the DRUM, to the stele. Gerzschko-2 demands justice for the destruction of the planet Rhaytr-Ozy by Maahks and the USO in 2408, but only achieves that a Space Pack is sent to "protect" the home system of the Grossarts. Anyone who appears as a plaintiff may touch the stele - including Leccore. With the special skills of a Koda Aratier, he realizes that a strange, very powerful consciousness is hidden in the stele.

The situation becomes critical on April 8th, as Boyton Holtorrec has scheduled an inspection of the BOX-57333. In the shape of a Posbi, Leccore lures the head Onryone into a trap, copies him and takes his place on the Space Father CLOSSOY. The BOX launches, but apparently gets into trouble and threatens to collide with the DRUM. At this moment, an Aagenfelt flash is triggered, so that all systems in the area of the spaceport fail (previously, various manipulations ensured that there were no traffic accidents) and nobody could see what was really going on. The stele is picked up by the BOX and radiated from the DRUM to the WARTHOG. The Fragment ship and the evacuated Grossart ship are sacrificed; they flee and bombarded before they can transition. The real Boyton Holtorrec dies on the BOX. Leccore remains on Allema. Since the stele left behind seems to be only slightly damaged, the Onryones are calmed down for the time being. They have no idea that an inoperative copy has been placed among them. However, the original is well aware of what has happened. It has nothing against it, because soon it will be up to those responsible to ensure justice back on the planet. The stele is taken over by the CALLISTO tender MAVEN JOHANNES PONCIUS and brought Ockham's World.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I enjoyed this issue, although not much of import happened. It was really a setup issue that will payoff dome time down the road. I'm interested in seeing if Attilar Leccore tries to continue his charade on the Space Father, or if it will turn out he just hopped ship and moved on. I imagine we'll eventually have the immortals make contact with the stolen stele and finally get real information. Time will tell, right? :)

The Domain Guard

Die Domänenwacht

By Michelle Stern

On March 5, 1517 NGE the RAS TSCHUBAI crossed the Repulsor Wall, which separated the central region of Larhatoon from the rest of the galaxy. Immediately after rematerialization, the Terran ship is located by two probes and attacked by a robotic defense system. Since the crew is not yet ready for action again, ANANSI single-handedly destroys the probes and the fort. However, the incident does not go unnoticed. Velleshy Pattoshar, commander of the Space Father VOOTHOY belonging to the Domain Guard, receives a corresponding message and sets off with the Space Pack consisting of a total of 35 battleships to the penetration point. Of course, there is no longer a foreign ship in sight, but Pattoshar is certain that enemies have invaded the Shyoricc domain. She contacts the Spochane Loitmahd to warn him. The ten meter tall, four-legged, horned and with special senses Spochanes are the Quartermasters of the Crystalline Judge and belong to the Domain Guard as do the Neypashi, non-humanoid fighters with the shape of tentacle-reinforced wheels.

The RAS TSCHUBAI is hiding in the detection protection of a sun. The Terrans are targeting the Crystalline Judge, or rather his spaceship, with which they want to reach the Hereafter Lands. The coordinates of the planet Shyor, which is considered the seat of the Judge, are unknown to them. However, they picked up the information that the Judge is expected on March 15th on the planet Vlaera in the Vlayd system for the major event Assaree Dymae, at the "Harbor of Tents". Participants from many peoples are traveling to Vlaera. The Terrans make themselves known, modify a light cruiser of the MERCURY class, so that it resembles a spaceship of the humanoid Phudphogs, and mix with the flow of visitors. Perry Rhodan is persuaded by his granddaughter Farye Sepheroa to take her on this mission. Gucky and the Venus team are there to. The cruiser lands on Vlaera without attracting any attention. There is already a party atmosphere on site. Now masked as Onryones, Rhodan and his companions make inquiries. Benner hacks various systems and finally comes across the coordinates of Shyor.

Farye was left in the cruiser in a Phudphog cocoon mask. A real ship of this people is already on Vlaera. Its commander Uulincold asks Farye to visit the dying Cuurem prince. According to the traditions of the Phudphogs, she cannot refuse this. Because of her poor knowledge of this people, she makes some mistakes. Uulincold becomes suspicious and calls on Pattoshar. The Ordic Stele installed on Vlaera also reports an "irritation in the stream of thoughts". In other words: there are uninvited guests! For Pattoshar and Loitmahd it is clear where the enemy is sitting. The cruiser is attacked, and Neypashi board it. Rhodan and his companions are also in severe distress from the attacks of these strange beings, and their deflectors are of no use to them, because Loitmahd can always perceive them with his antennas. Patrick St. John is killed in the fight against the Neypashi. Baucis Fender suffers life-threatening injuries and is taken prisoner. The cruiser launches. The crew brings themselves to safety with a transmitter, and the self-destruction is activated. Rhodan, Pucky and the remaining members of the Venus team are thus stuck on Vlaera…
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Holy cow! This ended up being a very tense issue, leaving our team in deep trouble. MIchelle is a powerful writer with this high stakes story and I can't wait to see how the next author picks up the storyline.

2773 The Crystalline Judge

Beitrag von jerrys109 »

Nr. 2773
The Crystalline Judge
Der Kristalline Richter

By Michael Marcus Thurner

Perry Rhodan and his team take part in the Assaree Dymae and witness the arrival of the Crystalline Judge announced by Loitmahd. The Atope looks like he is made of partially transparent crystal. Something that reminds them of snowflakes swirls inside him. The creature, consisting of three humanoid bodies that have grown together on the back, “pauses”: it suddenly removes heat from the surroundings. The Neypashi balance that out again. Sick, wounded and crippled petitioners from a wide variety of races are admitted to the Judge. He selects individuals to whom he gives "Inspiration". He takes them into his body and releases them completely healed. Even the late Cuurem Prince of the Phudphogs is brought back to life. The crowd is raging with enthusiasm. Rhodan is impressed because the healing arts of the Atope are equivalent to the skills of a superintelligence. When the fatally wounded Baucis Fender is healed by the Crystalline Judge, so that she can then be seen by Loitmahd in his spaceship STAULCETT or be interrogated on Shyorcan, Rhodan has to rethink his operational planning. Fender must be rescued at all costs.

In the meantime, Rhodan reports safely to his granddaughter who has returned to the RAS TSCHUBAI. Icho Tolot and Avan Tacrol are immediately sent with a ship of the LAURIN squadron to Vlaera. They land unnoticed, contact Rhodan and provide enough "tempest in a teacup " in Velleshy Pattoshar's flagship, so that Rhodan and his companions can enter the STAULCETT unnoticed. The action hungry youngster Avan Tacrol goes too far, accidentally causing the death of Pattoshar's beloved foster son Clocc Otymis. The Crystalline Judge rejects Pattoshar's request to revive Otym. Then Pattoshar shoots herself in the head but comes back to herself a little later - the Atope has brought her back to life. According to the Judge, she should "make room for justice," then there would be a chance for Otym's "Inspiration" later.

The LAURIN ship follows the STAULCETT which flies secretly to the planet Shyor in the Khochd system. Pucky espert and learns a lot. Countless Onryone ships guard the Crystalline Judge who is already there - or rather, has never left the planet. He is master of the art of multilocation, so he can be in several places at the same time; possibly even several universes. This makes it clear that - as Rhodan feared before - he most likely does not have a spaceship at all. Shyor is encircled by two moon-sized objects. According to the images of the Onryones, these so-called cosmoglobes are at the heart of the Atopic Tribunal in Larhatoon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was another fun, wild romp of an adventure. Nothing very important happens, but there is plenty of action to keep me enjoyed. I don't expect anything major to happen for another 15 issues or so, but I'm not complaining. Haluters, an Ilt and espionage - oh my! :D

Well, I would say that you are wrong in this respect. B-)

"Jenzeitige Lande": Any suggestions on a neologism that better captures this term than "Hereafter Lands" ?
